The Queen's staircase is right next to the Fincastle Fort which is also worth seeing. It was on the Historic Highlight Tour we took but a different tour guide actually gave us the story of the stairs. I get the feeling this happens every now and again, so be sure to have a little extra tip money just in case.... more

If you want to see a large staircase cut into rock then this is something you might want to check out. Be warned…as you approach, a local who is more than willing to tell you about the history surrounding the staircase will probably stop you. Afterwards you will be expected to give a “donation”. This is a pretty cool place. I would have loved to see what it looked like in its day. Great place for some photos. And if you are in to geocaching, one cache is just up the steps. more

I was at the top of the Queen's staircase looking down the steps taking a picture when my purse was snatched right off my arm by one of the locals. they seemed to be congregating along the top 15 steps or so. after filing a report at the police station they wouldn't even give me a copy of the report... more

The Bahamians make it sound beautiful, and it is nice, but it is just a staircase. Consists of about 65 steps, carved out of rock. From as distance the staircase takes on a nice exotic look, you can get some nice photos here. I will add some photos soon. Not very populus in tourists, dont' travel alone... more

We saw this after our walk to the water tower, it is interesting and one of the sights to see on New Providence, we were some of the few sightseers there, most people just go shopping. We enjoyed everything we saw on New Providence. Bahamians sell their usual things in the shade at the bottom of the stairs. Palms and... more
