Would be interesting..BUT you cant visit the citadel on your own, you need to pay for a tour guide, just to see that big military square and if you try it on your own, they throw you out :) more

If you get up early in Quebec City, take a trip to see the changing of the guard at the Citadel. The guard changes at 10:00am. It's a sort of lengthy pomp and circumstances type of ceremony, but quite interesting. Their precision and crispness in their marching and manuvering is fun to watch and their red uniforms are quite colorful.... more

This has to be the best feature of the city, the citadel. Quebec City is one of the only fortified cities in North America. There is army memorabilia in a museum on the premesis and on the citadel there are numerous cannons. The army is still atationed on part of the complex and there was even a changing of the... more
