Malcolm Miller is a wealth of knowledge concerening the Cathedral's history, construction, sculpture, and stained glass windows. The building is an awesome example of gothic construction. the 10 euro tour is informative but over in about 1 1/2 hours...a bit too short. Also, he really needs to keep his personal political opinions about the US Administration to himself since I... more

I so longed to go to Chartres to walk the labyrinte!!! We took the train from Paris on aThursday when we arrived we were told we could only walk the labyrinte on Fridays... no such information on the pamplet I had!!! Cathedrale de Chartres is one of the largest Cathedrals in France. It sits on top of a hill at the center of Chartres and holds a commanding view of the countryside. I have dreamed of visiting this cathedral for years. I used to report on it for my French class in high school. Finally got to go. Unfortuately, only able to stay for several hours, and plan to go back as soon as possible.
