This unique museum has numerous awe-inspiring sculptings by Bertel Thorvaldsen such as;"Christ and The Apostles","Josef Poniatowski",and "Venus and Cupid".It has Thorvaldsen's fine collection of early and mid-nineteenth century paintings by artists such as;C.W.Eckersberg,C.Kobke,Pierre Chauvin,J.C. Dahl,and J.A. Koch.Most of these paintings are landscapes or cityscapes.Personal favorites were;C.W.Eckersberg's"Thorvaldsen's Arrival in Copenhagen",Carl Von Vogelstein's "Thorvaldsen",J.C.Dahl's"Saint Peter's Square by Moonlight",and A.Reidel's"Family of Neapolitan Fisherman".This... more

I left visiting this Museum until my last day in Copenhagen as I had thought this rather dull looking place wouldn't hold much interest. How wrong I was!
