We took the early morning birding tour with Puentes Colgantes (Arenal Hanging Bridges). While it was a bit painful to get up for our 5:30am pickup time, it was definitely worthwhile. We started by spending about an hour just in the overlook area near their parking lot. It had a beautiful view of the misty valley and dramatic volcano. Just... more

My girlfriend and I booked this through www.arenal.net as part of the 4 in 1 tour. Anyway, we went as part of a tour, although it was not a busy time of year so there were only two other tourists. Our guide was very nice, somewhat knowledgeable, and very interested in birds. The drive from La Fortuna is about 20... more

We did the Hanging Bridges as part of the 4 in 1 Tour booked with Anywhere Costa Rica. Our guide Javier was wonderful. He was very patient and informative. The highlights of the tour were seeing a Blue Jeans Frog and Javier smelled a wild pig before we saw him in the rainforest. Toni Atlanta, GA more

We did this tour in the AM with Johan from Jacamar Tours. He was an excellent guide who even brought along a wildlife reference book and spoke excellent English. While my husband & I are both scared of heights, we were determined to see this and we are so glad we did. Most of the bridges are smaller and close... more

We arrived on time to have a guide but we were cheap and didn't get a guide. Because we stumbled upon this place accidentally, I didn't read any reviews or research this place beforehand... but we certainly would not have been able to do what we did if we had a guide. Based on the map that we got when... more

This was a great tour that I highly recommend! There is some uphill hiking, but nothing to bad, so it is a tour that most people shouldn’t have much trouble with. The hanging bridges are great. They vary a lot, but there are a few really good ones that are long, shaky, & high-up – everything you would imagine a... more

We spent a couple hours at the Arenal Hanging Bridges, which was located right next to the Lost Iguana Resort. Cost was $22 per person. We really enjoyed the time we spent there, although the hike was a little more strenuous than I anticipated (steep hills in some areas). I wore hiking boots and was glad I did. We saw... more

We went to the Hanging Bridges expecting to hire a guide. But we found that the guided tours are only at 8 AM and 2 PM. So we went around on our own, and still enjoyed it, but I think we would have gotten a lot more out of it with a guide. The only wildlife we saw was leafcutter... more

Our group of 13 (5-77) did this tour and we all loved it. It was fairly rainy while we were there, so many of the animals were less active than normal. This made hiring a guide even more worthwhile. He was able to tell us so much about the plants, habitats, animal behaviors, everything. I am not afraid of heights... more

My husband and I headed over to the Arenal Hanging Bridges on a clear morning during our visit to the Arenal area of Costa Rica. A note to students – please make sure you bring a student ID or international student ID card with you if you go, b/c you get a 50% discount on your entrance ticket! Though my... more
