A charming harbor town with gorgeous views of the Pitons. Enjoy walking around and exploring the shops, markets and bakery. Don't miss doing a Sunset Cruise with Mystic Man Tours (close to the gas station) and take a water taxi on Friday to Anse la Raye for their Fish Fry Friday.
From what I learned from a knowledgeable local, the Ptions were formed when the volcano erupted by Soufriere and the Pitons began as a plug in the volcanic hole. There were two types of lava that hardened into this plug, and over time the one type of lava eroded away from the weather, leaving the harder lava composite which is what we see today and call Petit Piton and Gros Piton. You can hike up both up these mountains, which is quite strenuous. We met one man named Alexander the Great and he claimed to be in a National Geographic because he climbed both of the Pitons in one day (I am still curious in researching that). Also, the Pitons have given their name to a tasty local beer brewed in St. Lucia. It reminds one of Corona, but better .. you don't need a lime to drink it down :-)

5. Tree Top Adventure Park
A great place to do ziplining in the jungle canopy. 8 ziplines in total, very knowledgeable staff. A little pricy, but well worth every penny. Make sure you try the barbecue they sell there. It comes with a fresh salad and bakes with cheese for only 10EC. They also have mountain bike tours, kayak tours and more.
Very good snorkelling here right off-shore, the water drops off quite deep just several feet in. There are grass huts and chairs provided for guests only - our first day we sat down and ordered drinks and no one questioned us, but our second day visiting there we were politely asked to vacate the hut and sit on the sand. We did, but the sand is darker and gets very hot from the sun. The road to the beach is very narrow with a sheer drop off to the ocean ... not for the faint of heart! It was a great adventure to get to this beach, and despite getting kicked out of our chairs we thoroughly enjoyed both the atmosphere and the water.
