The Fairmont waterfront is a great choice in Vancouver. I was given a complimentary upgrade to a Portside Deluxe room (oceanview) on the 21st floor. we had a portside deluxe room on the 18th floor, the view was fabulous.The staff were very polite and helpful. Nice stay for a weekend meeting. Had a large deluxe room on the 19th floor with view of North Van, mountains and harbour. We spent two nights here before flying out of Canada. We upgraded to The Fairmont Gold on arrival which meant we had use of a private lounge, with added facilities such as cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres and a complimentary deluxe continental breakfast. This hotel is direcly across the street from the cruise ship terminal/convention center. Our convention rate was $227 per night. The restaurant food was excellent! The dungeness crab soup was $14 a bowl and worth every spoonful. Housekeeping came everyday by 9:30am. Free local papers were delivered daily. Free coffee in the lobby at 6am is awful!
