We booked a one-night stay with dinner, bed & breakfast included. Our room was clean and comfortable with a nice bathroom. We had dinner in the brasserie, which had a modern and overly casual decor and feel to it. with the main door left open as people walk past in and out of the hotel. A more traditional restaurant with... more

Most of the time I don't write reviews of hotels I have stayed at on tripadviser. The two principal occasions are, now, when I think a hotel is really great and/or when I feel other reviews don't do the hotel justice. I checked in just to have a night away within easy driving distance of Oxford. I had been feeling... more

Booked an 80th birthday celebration meal on Sunday 15th June 2008 for a party of nine people. Booked by personal visit to the premises, and were asked to pay up front. Was told an area at the back of the restaurant would be reserved for the party. However upon arrival on the day, half the area reserved for our party... more

I took my family to the restuarant for a birthday dinner celebration (7 people). The service was friendly but not very polished. There was another party in the restuarant and as the evening went by, the service became slower and slower. We had our dessert served but one of our party was forgotten about and the chosen dish did nor... more

I would strongly advise anybody who wants to have a trouble free stay, with a genuine star rating, should avoid this tacky want to be hotel. 1. The pride of Britain Hotel guide informed me that it was a spa and had massage, sauna, and Jacuzzi, steam and a gym. It had none of these facilities all we got was... more

As a hotel we always value and appreciate constructive feedback. Guest comments are always very important to us as this helps us with our training and development and perhaps this guest may be confused with another recent hotel visit somewhere else. At the Hotel on the Park we do not serve any drink by the pint and all beers and...

I stayed here for 2 nights over the bank holiday with my wife. We booked directly and paid GBP201 per night for the Wellington Suite. At first glance the hotel is of a high standard but a number of issues presented themselves to us. Firstly, as previously mentioned, the hotel car park is very small, with spaces for about half... more

Sadly, as a local to the hotel we use their restaurant facilities on a regualr basis and this story explains their opinion of customer service. A table was booked for a Friday eveing for three frieds and myself. We were unable to obtain a table for our requested time of 8pm but booked a table at 9pm. We met up... more

This really is a classy hotel which provides a high class of service. A somewhat small hotel but a friendly efficient one and most welcoming. I ate in the restaurant and was most impressed with the food and the service. The room was large but had no tea and coffee making facilities. Bear in mind that not all rooms have... more

I have to admit to having booked this hotel without checking the detail of the reviews on Tripadvisor. I'd seen it in 'Great Places to Stay' and was booking the night before leaving for a Saturday night stay so was getting short on options when a tentative phone call landed the 'best room in the house' at a 15% discount.... more
