We stayed here in August 2008 and found our views at odds with some of the other reviews. The room we had was lovely, nicely furnished and the most comfortable bed we have found in a hotel. Just spent a very relaxing few days at this hotel and I've got to say the previous reviews are accurate. Great location, just outside Keswick in peaceful area. Good food, immaculate and tastefully decorated rooms. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere informal and relaxed. You won't be disappointed. more

Stayed at this lovely little hotel for two nights and basically couldnt fault it. Stayed in a standard room, very comfortable and clean, very quiet at night.. The bar and restaraunt were also excellant, prices and quality were spot on, staff very friendly, hence it was quite a busy place to be. Will certainly return. more

Clean recently refurbished small hotel. Decor just right neither too minimalist nor too chintzy. Modern barthrooms with excellent shower. Lots of little extras not usually found in 3 crown places: robes, slippers, in-room safe. Lovely outside terrace open all day. Stayed with the family at Easter and hotel was perfect. Front rooms have a great view over Derwent Water, hotel is near quiet road through Portinscale but no traffic noise.
