Stayed one night at the Cambo in September. The estate grounds are beautiful and during my walk I ran into the horses and cows (they just wandered around the estate). I stayed in the Blue Room and even though all the rooms/apartments were full, I really didn't hear anyone else. The room was big and airy with a great 4... more

I'm really particular about where I stay, and while this isn't a hotel, it has so much character and charm to make up for any shortcomings. A gorgeous old family estate in the most magical location, we stayed in one of the converted apartments on B&B basis. This was perfect as the apartment was huge with grand proportions and a... more

In spite of me making a mistake with the correct dates for our three night trip we received a warm welcome to this atmospheric country home. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the owners couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful with local knowledge. We stayed B&B in the Blue Room, that has a fantastic private bathroom with lashings... more

A weekend away was just what we needed. We booked a last minute stay in the Lower Servants apartment. Having never been before we were amazed at what we found. It’s so much better than it looks on the website. Cambo is beautiful. Its a big old house set in what seems to be the middle of the countryside but... more

We had a lovely time at Cambo. My wife and I stayed in the yellow room which is a vast room with a magnificent four poster bed. The interior of the house is very authentic victorian. The grounds are very quiet and contain a sandy beach and tennis courts. I would thoroughly recommend Cambo as a lovely place to stay... more

Lovely Grounds and surroundings, shabby gentility, basic room facilities and low key hospitality and reception. First impressions not helped by my dog being injured in close encounter with a black lab which attacked on him stairs on arrival and no hot water available in " West Wing". Rooms large with no en-suites, so be prepared to walk the halls, take... more

The Cambo Estate is a lovely place to temporarily reside. The location is lovely. The grounds are lovely. The service was mediocre at best, but the owners were away at the time. They have since given us a discount due to our bad experience which includes being switched between 3 rooms, lack of heating, lack of hot water and all... more

We had an extremely enjoyable time staying in Mid Cottage on Cambo Estate. We loved the freedom of self catering and stayed 11 days in May 2007. The cottage was very homely and well appointed with all we needed to make our stay relaxing. The staff are so friendly and helpful and Peter and Catherine Erskine are very gracious hosts.... more

What an amazing treasure Cambo was on our trip to Scotland! Incredible old manor house with antiques and old ancestral paintings line the stairs. Very large bedrooms with canopied beds overlooking 1,000 acres of farm land and woods. Fantastic trails to walk along the stone walled streams or to the ocean or golf course or hidden walled gardens. It was... more

Incredible place to stay if you want to experience a manor home of a Duke or Earl. Beautiful grounds with animals, woodland paths to the ocean, gardens, and next to an amazing golf course (Kingbarns). We stayed in the "Blue Room" B&B. A room larger than most living rooms with 12 foot ceilings. Filled with lovely antiques. Large windows with... more
