Violino d'Oro is a very nice small hotel. The staff is friendly and very attentive to guest needs. The rooms are clean and nice enough for a hotel in this price range. We really liked the location, close to everything. The breakfast room and food were excellent. Overall, this is a good selection for your stay in Venice. I only... more

Hotel is close to St. Marks Square on a street with designer stores such as Prada, Ferragamo, Gucci, and more. Gondolas line up on the small canal to the left of the hotel making for a convenient ride from property. You can easily walk to St. Marks but since you're so close, you've also got the crowds outside the hotel... more

This hotel was conveniently located just off piazza San Marco and the directions from the website were easy to follow. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. If we go back to Venice I would stay here again. more

Our room at Violino D'oro overlooked a small canal and its gondoliers and a lovely piazza with lots of light. It is small and cozy and the people are very helpful. Venice is very expensive so we chose this hotel to be in a great location without paying a mint for it. It is right next to the Westin and... more

This is a very nice hotel! It's best freature is its location. It's very conveniently located only a coupla blocks behind the San Marcos square, on a tiny plaça with a gondolier station. The rooms are quiet and private and ours was very large with a large bathroom. We had booked a Classic Double, but when we got to the... more

I cant remember how we got this hotel but it was absolutely last minute (the day before we needed a room). On top of that, we were scrambling to get a room in Venice close to St Marks square because our travel agent had idiotically booked our hotel an hour outside of Venice and it was Carnival weekend. After the... more

My husband and I stayed at this hotel in December - very cold outside but very comfortable inside. Good time to visit - we were lucky enough to have dry weather - bright but cold and the hotel is ideally placed for tramping the streets of Venice. Quiet but central and pleasant staff. We would definitely stay here again. the... more

Hotel Violino d’Oro is a fantastic hotel close to Piazza San Marco, the main area of Venice. The hotel is easy to get to and the staff is very friendly and helpful. They also speak English so it will help ease the minds of those who are intimidated to try speaking the language. The rooms and comfy and well appointed;... more

The Hotel Violino D'oro was perfect for our one night stay in Venice. The room and bathroom were immaculate and furnished with beautiful spreads and draperies. It was blessedly easy to find. (We saw a lot of desperate people with suitcases looking down narrow alleys for their hotels.) The breakfast was fine. There was a balcony in the hallway where... more

We just returned from a two-night stay on the top floor of the Violino D'Oro in a "junior suite" with two adults and two children. Although the room was not really a "suite" in the traditional sense, it did accomodate our family of four, with a large bed for my husband and me, and two somewhat saggy pull-out twin beds... more
