The location on the beach is superb and the town is friendly, safe, affordable and you don't need a car. Alas this place is poorly managed and maintained. The problems seem to be getting worse. This hotel is slowly being run into the ground. Nothing seems to get fixed. The pool has a leak in it and has been that way for two years. Great location to the beach, but needs new owners with a wrecking ball. This was our first stay there and our last. more

Hotel Ojo de Agua is named after a fresh water spring in the ocean about 30 yards off the beach. It's a great spot to snorkel around. Ojo de Agua is located about 10 minutes walking distance north of Puerto Morelos (PM), on the beach. It is connected to a beach bar resturant. Because there are few hotels in or within close walking distance of PM, it is an OK place to stay. However, water pressure is poor and the staff seem to not be customer oriented.... more
