After a very long over night flight we arrived at the hotel utterly exhausted at 8 in the morning. To our great relief the room was ready for us and the reception clerk was very nice & helpful with ideas of where to eat and what to do in the area. The bellman was there to help with the bags... more

Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights at the start of a holiday visiting friends living in Sydney, and loved every minute. After battling through the rain from the airport, we had a warm welcome from all the reception staff, and fantastic service in the bar where the "mixologist" recommended cocktails...just the thing to help us get over to sleep... more

My partner and I spent the last 2 nights (22 and 23 January 2008) of our month in Oz at Blue - and it was a brilliant stay! Check in was easy and attentive - indeed all of the hotel staff, from housekeeping to reception to concierge to bar staff - were all very friendly, attentive and professional. The hotel... more

Stayed in a King Duplex room for 4 nights and couldn't have wished for a better start to our holiday in Australia. Check in was efficient with staff very helpful. The room was great: large living area with a spectacular view towards the city, and a mezzanine bedroom with a very comfortable bed. Both the bedroom and the living areas... more

I arrived late into Sydney and was delivered to Blue at Woolloomooloo by my taxi. I was impressed by the check in. My bag was whisked out of the taxi and the staff escorted me to the hotel reception…had to go up some stairs to reception so not sure how disabled people get there….check in was very good with a... more

Having read one bad review of this hotel I was hoping to be prooved wrong - unfortunately I was not! The room was tired - the handle of the fridge broken. Dirty tape stuck to the floor of the shower. Went to the bar for a drink and bar staff were rude, unhelpful and then charged a standard 10% for... more

This is no luxury option. Sure the rooms were a great size, but they were tired and tatty on the edges. The service was insanely non-existent (could reception staff move any slower and look any LESS interested?). During my stay i never really felt that i was in any way getting service, that the hotel was doing me a favour... more

I just checked into the Blue hotel after spending two nights at the Establishment. First impressions, not so great. 1. Location. Despite what others have been saying, I find the location a bit inconvenient. Sure, it's away from the hustle/bustle of Circular Quay, the CBD, and the Rocks, but when a lot of the action is in those areas from... more

Stayed here for a week after travelling to Melbourne, Adelaide and Alice Springs. The building is an amazing warehouse conversion but lacks a heart. The room was great with a huge bed and a good sized marble bathroom. The view was magnificent with the Sydney skyline perched above the art gallery, and the top of the harbour bridge just visible... more

Blue used to be called the W, this chain is part of the larger American chain of hotels called Starwood. During the later part of 2006 the hotel changed hands the standard of service has not changed and you can still expect the best. The hotel has a very good location on the otherside of the Botanical Gardens and is... more
