My wife and I spent two nights in the Lord Nelson on a quick visit to Sydney. The location, as other reviewers point out, is right in the middle of a fabulous part of the city. We were able to stroll to many shops and restaurants, as well as to the Circular Quay ferry wharves and the steps up to... more

A beautiful hotel in a cosy area! Walking distance to Circular Quey and the city! (There is also a bus stop close to the hotell) The beer tastes fantastic and the pub meny is also great food. The breakfast was although a little poor, with only white bread and cerials. more

This hotel is a real hidden gem. The location is fantastic, no more than a 10 min walk from Darling harbour and a 5 min downhill walk to the Rocks. Our room was extremly spacious with a lovely bathroom. We didn't find the room at all noisy and though we didn't eat in the hotel the food looked excellent (... more

The Lord Nelson is located in the edge of the Rocks district, a short walk from great pubs, great shopping, and circular quay, the Harbor Bridge, and the Opera House. Spotless room, well equipped, well decorated, 60 channels of TV, a fax machine?!. Nice place. Quiet, the Pub closes at 10pm, so no noise at all. Great beer!! Although 7.50... more

We stayed at the Lord Nelson for 6 nights, including New Year's Eve. The main reason for choosing this hotel was that it is so convenient for seeing Sydney on foot. It takes a little over 5 minutes to reach the heart of the Rocks and 10-15 minutes to reach Circular Quay. Our room - the much-maligned 304 - was... more

My daughter and I stayed at this historic pub for 2 nights while on a short break. Our ensuite room on the top floor was clean and on the bigger side compared to some of the other rooms mentioned in reviews..king size bed with a single bed. Bathroom was a little cramped with the toilet having little room between it... more

This hotel is a perfect place to stay while visiting Sydney. It is fairly close the proximity of the Circular Quay (around 10 minute walk). The breakfast that is included with the room is very nice. Rooms were kept very clean, and the area is a nice, safe area. Plus the brewery downstairs is excellent! The only minor complaint are... more

This is a fantastic place where we stayed 4 nights in May this year. It's located in the Rocks area and 7 1/2 minutes from Circular Quay and the water front (it's on top of the very steep Argyle Street so it's 5 minutes on the way there, 10 on the way back!). The rooms are located above the Lord... more

This is pretty much the closest that you'll get to a 'pub' in sydney. For $7 a pint you get a pretty good locally brewed ale, in a variety of shades. Definitely worth a visit. more

Stayed here with my brother in March - loved the location, the bar and the restaurant (great food). Would stay here again but our room was very small. We booked a twin room and the room we were given would have made an adequate single into which they'd obviously inserted an extra bed. It had a cupboard but no drawers that... more
