I stayed there or 1 night as a romantic getaway with the girlfriend. We stayed in the spa suite (room 815). It was very nice, big spa bath, foxtel, kingsize bed, dining table, dvd player and sofa lounge. The downside was the only view from room was straight into the building next door!! Knowing the wonderful quality at the Sir Stamford in Sydney I was really looking forward to staying here in Adelaide, but I was disappointed. My husband and i stayed at the Stamford Plaza for three nights last week, enjoyed the stay. The hotel is in a clear need of a refurshment, with the bathroom looking very tired, and the reception and lifts clearly dated. The bed was average, although the service was generally good. Not a 5 star hotel anymore, 4 at the most. I'd rather pay a bit extra and stay at the Hyatt next time more

I was reluctant to stay at Stamford Plaza, having had a very ordinary stay 2 years ago, but things have definitely improved. Moved here after a dreadful night at the Rockford Adelaide @ 9.15am. Counter staff member was fantastic. Greeted us properly and arranged for us to have access to a room immediately. Hotel and all it's fittings are 1st class. Staff attentative and informative. Price was very reasonable for this class of hotel. Bed and room was extremely comfortable. Highly recommended.... more

Whenever I visit Adelaide, I always stay here. A great five star hotel, in a great location. My last stay DID disappoint me.
