There is something rather likeable about the Zara. From its ridiculous ipod-style elevator controls, to the glitzy glass and mirrors in reception. Beware though - the walls between the rooms can be very thin and don't stop much sound! more

My partner and I stayed in the Boutique Hotel Zara in January during a 3 night city break to Budapest and were fantastically surprised by the quality and 'boutique style' of the hotel. The rooms are small, but nicely done out and the communal areas of the hotel and beautiful. It is very modern throughout and has everything you need... more
What a terrible experience we had in this wannabe '4 star' hotel... First of all, it all started with very noisy next door job site starting at 8AM... Then the rooms are very noisy, you can hear your neighboor switching on/off the lights and more... The breakfast room is very tiny, better get there early if you wanna have the... more
The Zara is decently located, just off the quieter end of Vaci Ucta, about a 10 minute walk to the nearest metro (Kalvin Ter station) and a 7-8 minute walk to the tram. Not quite the nearest hotel to the main attractions, but the tram/metro system is inexpensive and easy to use. Decor of the hotel is modern and well... more
Very pleasant hotel with lovely staff. Our room was small, but a very comfortable bed, and great bathroom. Good breakfasts too - much better scrambled eggs than you usually get in European hotels. BUT - we hated the Vaci Utca. It's purely for tourists - extremely expensive food (we paid over £8 for 2 coffees at one restaurant!), the food... more
My friend and I came to Budapest for Easter week, and booked the hotel through United Airlines' website. We were given room no. 106, which is a double bedded room. As such, we definitely had room to stow our bags and baggage, which was a concern of mine, after reading other reviews regarding the size of the rooms. We also... more
This hotel's location certainly cant be beaten - it is literally right next to the main pedestrian street, Vaci Utca, and the central market hall which is the very best place to buy your souvenirs. The front desk staff were helpful and good at recommending restaurants etc.. The room was fairly small but the bathroom was massive! I certainly agree... more
i used my air miles for our stay here so our cost was zero but even if we had paid we would have been happy with it, very clean and modern hotel, fast room service when we used it, yes the rooms are on the small side but who looks around when they are asleep. our room looked over the... more
The Hotel Zara is a nice, chic hotel, but it doesn't have a warm friendly feeling to it. The room was very small, but the soaps/amenities were nice. There is also a hair dryer provided. The shower is very hot with lots of pressure, and the nozzle can also be hand-held and adjusted to varying heights. The in-room internet is... more
Myself and my boyfriend stayed in this Hotel in March (2008) and we were very dissappointed with the hotel. The location was excellent just across from the Green Bridge and Market Hall. But the hotel service was a huge let down. Firstly, when we arrived the lady at check in desk told me my credit card wouldnt work. As this... more
