We stayed here for one night. While I personally prefer newer hotels, this hotel was fine. I liked being able to check in online and keys to our room were waiting for us when we arrived at 10 AM. Also, it was convenient to a metro station. The room was acceptable, although being an older hotel, it had that older... more
I went to DC for a meeting with hundreds of people from throughout the country. We booked rooms under a government rate (around $200/night) so I'm sure I wasn't even in the *nicest* room (I know there are "better" rooms that cost more). The staff here was incredibly friendly - literally every single person from the valets to the check-in... more
Loved the Omni. Great location just across street from Metro. Hotel grounds are beautiful, hammocks, nice pool etc. We had a great oversized room , a/c was nice and cold, balcony overlooking Rock Creek Park. The staff was great with the exception of the pool area - the staff seemed a little unknowledgable on how to make drinks, and not... more
I stayed here for a business trip. Not what I expected. The room was small, had a very noisy AC and everything looked like an old motel room with superficial renovations. The hotel had only one restaurant with a limited menu (especially for vegetarians) and a very slow service. The hotel smelled bad after each summer rain shower, as if... more
Very opulent large reception area gives a luxury feel when you arrive. Valet parking only, they whisk your car awy as soon as you arrive. our room was large and clean but was a little dated. The coffee they have in the room is undrinkable. The trolly bus stops just across the road for the tour of all the sites.... more
Our family of 4 stayed 4 nights June 3-7th. Although I was initially concerned about the location and the age of the hotel, we couldn't pass up the price. The location ended up being great, given the proximity of the Metro station and the availability of nearby restaurants. Staff: We used the advance checkin option and a key was awaiting... more
I just returned from a stay at the Omni Shoreham from June 3-6. The hotel is was a $60 cab fare from Dulles and took approximately 30 minutes at 7:00 PM. My coworker was on an earlier flight and left the airport at 5:00 PM, his cab ride was aprroximately 80 minutes. Prior to my arrival I had registered as... more
I stayed for 3 nights while attending a meeting in DC. The pluses were proximity to the Metro station and free internet access. The minuses: I was given a room off the east promenade of the hotel... which is a bit of a hike from the lobby and confusing to get to...the room was dark and dingy...and it is clear... more
We had a great experience with this hotel and Washington DC as a whole. The location of the Omni cannot be beat. It's less than a block from the metro, close to CVS, and surrounded by restaurants. It's location on the redline of the metro makes it easy to navigate the city. The hotel is very nice. The beds are... more
