Some time ago i was very sad about the Kalahari Sands after having stayed there with a group of clients last February. I wrote a rather negative review about the service and the elevators and some other stuff. Today I am happy to tell you that i think the hotel is back on the good track. I stayed at the... more

The reviews show that the Kalahari Sands has changed since I was last there. It is located right downtown in Windhoek, since I was there on business I found the location to be great. It is a bit weird walking into the hotel because it is located in a shopping mall which is not what you normally expect. There is... more

This hotel is an OK place to start or finish your tour of Namibia, but it is definitely for passing through. It's a typical 'corporate' hotel which, once you're inside could be anywhere. Having said that it does its job pretty well, being in the town centre and OK for the airport. When we were there 2 out of 3... more

I have stayed at this hotel for 1 night recently and have to say that it really was ok. Check-in at the reception was quick, the lifts worked properly all the time and the room was average and clean. If you ask for room on a high floor is will be quiet and you will have a nice view of... more

...by the seemingly shiny and glitzy first impression. I have stayed here on business many times over the past 6 months and the lifts have been constantly out of service resulting in intollerable queues to access your room at all times of day. The hotel staff have hit me up for money (which I expect on the street, not inside... more

Torn carpets in the Dunes Restaurant were a healthy and safety hazard. In the 9 days that we were there one of the three lifts was always out of order, a second was out of order for 50% of the time, and the third out of order around 10% of the time. And this in a 12 storey hotel. Walking... more

Great location. The hotel is located in a shopping center. Lobby has a small casino. We had the deluxe room which faced the Supreme Court Building and was very roomy. The decor is dated. We stayed for two nights when we arrived in Namibia and one night as a stop over on our way to the desert. Some of the... more

This is by far one of the best hotels on Windhoek, on the heart of Town on top of a Mall on Idependence Avenue, close to everything, professional staff, clean rooms, good service. If compared with other hotels of the area it does worth it's high price. My only complains would be The food (same everyday) and the Internet Speed... more

This is a good standard hotel for your first or last night in Namibia - central, safe, clean, comfortable, etc. but nothing particularly memorable. Try Joe's Beer House in town if you want a night out. Amazing food (as long as you're not vegetarian!) and a fun bar. Just about the only place to go. more
