I have recently stayed here and I could not think of a negative thing to say about this experience. I paid $30 a night for a perfect hotel. I loved this place. The owners made you feel like you were a guest in their home. The staff were so polite from the reservations personnel to the room cleaners. You would... more

What to say about this nice hotel? Ok, it is clean, warm, friendly... Let´s star from the beginning. Michelle is the perfect manager, we did everything by email directly with her. Had a lot of helpful recommendations for restaurants and also to go around thamel and always with a kind smile. Hugs from Madrid, Michelle!!! The hotel itself is an... more

As we pretty much used the Hotel Courtyard as our 'crash pad' to decompose upon our long trip from the USA, we did not get to appreciate some of the culinary, decorative and landscaping plusses of the hotel that others mentioned. We had a terrific room- large, cool, high ceilings, working and clean utlities. And we were well-situated by the... more

Dear fellow travellers, My name is Nikhil Joshi, I am a medical school student from Canada. I have had the utmost pleasure to stay at the Hotel Courtyard in Kathmandu for about 3 weeks. My plan to travel around India and Nepal was cut short as soon as I arrived on the grounds of the hotel; I had finally found... more

What can i say - very centrally placed, easy to get to, excellent large nepalese/western style rooms, very peaceful, great chill out bar/restaurant nearby (Comfort Zone), great welcome by this family run hotel. I wouldn't stay anywhere else now. We were two singles on a Rally but there were Everest Teams, Buyers and Trekkers using this traditional style hotel as... more

The Hotel Courtyard was a great find on Trip Advisor. We stayed for two weeks in April 08, sampling the great hospitality of the family run hotel, which owned by a vibrant Nepalese guy (Pujan) who was educated in America and has returned to the family business with his wife (Michelle) from Seattle. A great couple whose only aim in... more

I was not going to stay in Kathmandu, but I missed my flight to Paro, so I went to Thamel to find a room to stay one night. After being in various hotels, I arrived the Courtyard. I couldn't believe such a peaceful place in the middle of Thamel. Michelle and Pujan (the owners) finally made up one room for... more

We used Hotel Courtyard as our base for our week in Nepal and from the moment we arrived we were made to feel completely at home by Pujan and Michelle. They couldnt have done more for us and made this part of our honeymoon very special. We will be returning to Nepal as we fell in love with the country... more

It was very nice and comfortable hotel. My wife and I have ever visited Kathmandu before, and liked very much. So, we decided to bring our both mother to come with us this time. Frankly, my previous experience gave us no expectation on hotels especially around Thamel area until we found Courtyard. We let our both mother to stay at... more

I stayed at the Courtyard, off and on, for a total of about 10 days. My abiding memory of the place will be the owners - Pujon and his wife Michelle - who go out of their way - literally!! - to get to know each guest and cater to his/her needs, if this means getting their personal barber sent... more
