Very dated, old world elegance... not really bad, just don't expect to see modern furnishings or provisions. Comfortable rooms, and good location (even though it's situated in between 2 MRT stations on two different lines. Still, walking distance is only about 5 minutes to either one. Hotel gym is not bad, with sauna and steam facilities available. Didn't bother to... more

I stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks in Apr 2008 while on business for my company. Room was quite nice (Rm 1265) facing inside courtyard with balcony) but it was the first room on the corridor after the elevators so sometimes in the mornings you could hear the dings from the elevators. Room was spacious with walk in closet.... more

Just got done with a two-day stay at the Howard Plaza - my second stay there in about 2 years. I find it to be a clean, pleasant, reasonable hotel for the money. I paid about $200/night, inclusive of taxes, for an executive "studio" room that was quite large. Breakfast was included in the rate. As with my last stay,... more

It's a hotel with 10 minutes work to a metro station. Morning buffet breakfast is nice and have a lot of choice. The room is tidy and comfortable. There are a few shops in the hotel for time-spending. I don't have any complaint about this hotel. more

We stayed for 4 nights at Howard Plaza during the TIMTOS Show in March 2007 . It is not special but the rooms are clean , the bathroom is ok ( much better than some european similar hotels ) , good option on restaurants inside the hotel . The restaurants prices are quite high , even on the breakfast .... more

The company with which I was doing business booked a nice corner room on the 9th floor for me with great views. Unfortunately it also came with far too much traffic noise, so I asked for a 'quieter' room instead. Well, the bellhop informed me that they get such requests "all the time" from hotel guests in streetside rooms! My... more

It is about two years since I stayed in this hotel and it is just as good as ever and incredibly good value for money. I arrived on a Saturday and stayed four nights in a superior room with city views until the following Wednesday. During that time I entertained a special friend at the Formosan Restaurant on Saturday night,... more

I've stayed at the Howard 3 times. The first two times were just fine, but this last time was a 2 star experience. The AC couldn't cool the room to a reasonable temp, the bathroom was moldy and poorly kept, the matress was very old and worn out, and the subway and traffic noise was quite bad. If you stay... more

Like 70-80% of the hotels in the world the last thing of importance to the Howard Plaza Hotel folks seems to be guaranteeing their customers a good night's sleep. I could practically hear the guy next-door scratch his back-side. Endless noisy door-closing, toilet flushing, telephone, TV noises until 2-3PM. One night I actually woke up around 2PM to the sound... more

Overall a very nice place to stay. 5 minutes from the subway. And cheap compared to US prices. My only complaints: >Room was quite small. >The was no dresser in the room. No drawers of any kind for your, well, drawers! >If you stay on the inside of the hotel, overlooking the atrium, there is a piano player that plays... more
