We were living in Bangkok, so were very happy to be able to stay in a nice room that did not require A/C. We actually needed blankets!!! We stayed for a night in March 2008 which we were visiting the Royal Project Research Station and surrounding flower gardens. It is an older style resort with 74 rooms spread out over a large area. I suggest you avoid those rooms close to the road to avoid the road noise. Some rooms are a long walk from the reception... more

We drove to Angkhang from Chiang Dao by rental car and stopped at this Amari location for lunch after visiting the very nice Royal Project gadens (the drive to get there was spectacular). Was skeptical about staying at this place initially as the transfer takes 3 hours (per way) from the airport. 2 way trip cost 5,000 baht.
