This is a great hotel for the business traveller. Tastefully renovated rooms, flat screen TV and modern. The room I stayed in was large and bright. Close to the subway and a local supermarket as well as restaurants including Pizza Hut and other international brands. Great breakfast included in rate and a really nice area to sit out in the... more

I had a choice of staying at swanky five star in the Financial street and more down to earth but comfortable holiday inn. I gave it a try to stay and I am happy i did it. Hotel has just completed renovation and rooms are brand new. Great friendly staffs. And just few minutes walk to Financial street. Will return... more

Travelled from U.K to Hong Kong then on to N.Z. and Australia finally arriving in Beijing after 6 weeks of travelling feeling rather weary. Arrived late at the hotel but found the reception desk staff very efficient and extremely helpful. Our executive double room was perfect. Booking in at executive level does not cost much more than normal rates but... more

I was in Beijing for a trade show recently, stayed at the Holiday Inn Downtown Beijing. There is much to like about this hotel, but unfortunately my stay was spoiled by one incident of extremely poor customer service which I will relate at the end of this review. The hotel is nothing fancy - the buiding is quite old and... more

Stayed in this hotel for three nights at the beginning of October. Lovely room with huge shower. The breakfast buffet was the best we had on our tour of China. Very attentive staff tied your handbag to your chair whilst you browsed the buffet. The swimming pool was downstairs off the bar.Used it once but it was a bit cold.... more

The interior is nice and fresh looking and it is situated in a good location with shops and food places near by. My room was small but really good in terms of comfort and cleanliness. It was also very nice and quiet with thick walls. The reastaurant on the ground floor was ok. Plenty of selection but didn't always look... more

I chose this hotel because I needed an inexpensive place to stay in unfamiliar territory - a trusted name like Holiday Inn fit the bill, and having a "Holiday Inn Downtown Beijing" sounded charming. I wasn't disappointed at all, as my expectations were not that high. The rooms are small, clean and basic. The pool was a perk, though I... more

This hotel is conveniently located for the shops and the metro. it is currently undergoing a much needed renovation which was noisy during the day but didn't carry on at night or start early in the morning. The rooms show their age. Ours was ok, the carpet was a bit stained. Others in our group had rooms that were more... more

My experience could not be more different to the last review. The room I had was excellent, small but new. The staff were great - limited English but they did their very best to accommodate my needs. The hotel location is not the best, but for the price it is pretty good. Very close to a metro stop and taxis... more

We stayed at this place for 4 nights last summer. It was awful. The staff are not professional at all. The rooms are small and torn. In one of the two rooms we had, the toilet system was just working from time to time. They tried to repair it 4 times!!! That was on the executive floor in a Holiday... more
