Mirroring the next review along, our experience here was a little mixed.... We travelled with Mark Warner. Decent enough, but I wouldn't describe XL airways as anything other than budget - like a long haul Ryanair without the crabby staff. Don't expect complimentary food & drink or any legroom! They ran out of food by the time they reached us... more

Ok, before we went out to Abu Soma, we were on here many a time getting a real idea about what to expect. I vowed to add our voice upon our return to help anyone else going so here goes... We booked through Mark Warner-I wouldn't do it any other way as their panoramic suites were outstanding (we could have... more

not a five star hotel and the food is below average. We spent extra on top of our allowance to eat in the italian restaurant every night as the buffet and greek options were not good.Vegetarians not looked after. Rooms good.Beach pleasant.Charged 22% on top of everything. Water expensive and not included at meals.Boring at night with little to do.Excellent for... more

My husband and I have been in Egypt for 4 years and have stayed in a lot of places. This is absolutely the best hotel we have ever stayed in! The food was excellent, the staff were the most friendly and helpful, and the resort itself is beautiful and very well maintained. I'm not sure why people said the cleanliness... more

A small glass of wine costs nearly 5 pounds....and the staff are not very helpful at all. There is literally nowhere to go outside the hotel so don't expect to see anything of Egypt. more

Resort chosen purely for the climate and the sailing - but we were delighted that it was in such a beautiful location and that the hotel was as comfortable as it was as well. Mark Warner experience fantastic. Staff enthusiastic, energetic and great instructors. Children loved the kids club (as did we!). Hotel experience slightly mixed. General hotel/waiting staff were... more

We booked our trip through Mark Warner and have to say it was a brilliant holiday and we were very impressed at the service throughout from Mark Warner staff. The resort itself is beautiful. We booked the panorama suite and it was HUGE with the most amazing views of the red sea. If travelling with children and booked through MW... more

If you are looking for a relaxed, sit-back kind of sea-side vacation where you can enjoy yourself on the beach away from the usual crowd of the Red Sea, this is the place to go. However, I do recommend you avoid the high season. The perfect time to go from my point of view is May, June, and the beginning... more

Very disappointed, this is no way a 5* hotel. The rooms were very disappointing, and the beds were rock hard. The bathrooms were very tired and the tiles were filthy as was the rubber bath mat. We had to change rooms on the first night as sewer was coming up out of the plug hole in the bath! Food was awful... more

Just returned from a week in the Intercontinental Abu Soma. The hotel and facillities are impressive - marble, goldleaf etc, but the food standards and cleanliness let down the whole experience. Room cleaning wasn't very thorough - bathroom was rarely left clean. Breakfast was good, but lunch and dinner in the main restaurant suffered often from lack of safe choices.... more
