Excellent stay I would highly recommend this hotel. Reception staff was cordial and friendly. Stayed at very nice recently refurbished room. Feels like 5 Star. Only glitch is that flat scree TV is really too far away form bed in mounted in wall at opposite side of the room. Hotel gym is excellent although adjacent pool area is too small.... more

I just spent 8 days at the Intercontinental. My business colleague and I had a good stay. The positives: * Room had just been renovated. Shower, tub, king bed, working desk, lighting were well above par. First class rooms. That is more than half the battle when you are on a long-term trip. * Staff level is beyond what travellers... more

On arriving at this hotel I felt really intimidated as teh staff for some reason just stared, when checking in I had to pay a deposit which I was not told about even though my booking had already been paid for, I told the receptionsit that I didnt haev cash on me but she insisted I pay something, luckily I... more

Not the best hotel we have stayed at but great nonetheless. Impeccable service, comfortable amenities, rooms lacked character but they are renovating and adding more color. Overall very pleasant stay. Will try to stay at their sister hotel across the mall next time to compare. more

My husband and I normally stay at the Michelangelo but this time wanted to stay in the same area but with an outside pool. The hotel is tired and the pool area is surrounded by pigeons. The service at breakfast was okay but nothing great. Not sure we will stay here again. more

We had booked online through the Southern Sun website, and got a deal of ZAR1805 (USD260) per night BB. This was a great deal in my opinion. Check in was very efficient, and we were up in our room in no time. The porter showed us around the room, and how things work. This was a great improvement on previous... more

I agree with one of the previous reviews when I viewed my stay here with some trepidation. I was in Johannesburg on business and our liaison here booked the rooms. Nasty service, thieving maids, 6:45 housekeeping calls and holes in the room with electrical wire sticking out of it? Yikes! When I arrived, I received very pleasant assistance with bags,... more

After reading reviews for this hotel we were very apprehensive. It must be pointed out however that the Intercontinental Towers is a totally separate hotel from the Sandton Sun Hotel which is accross the road and in the Sadnton City shopping centre. The Intercontinental Towers is linked to the centre by a skywalk . On check in the staff were... more

I have stayed at the Sun Towers over a ten year period whenever in Johannesburg, and have found it to be my favorite. From some other reviews, it sounds really nasty, but that was not my experience on any of my visits. I love the room design, and especially the sitting area, closet, bathroom and shower. A real plus was... more
