One of the most inspiring places that I have ever visited. A small boutique hotel with views of Lake Atitlan and the surrounding volcanoes. Beautifully decorated with local textiles and artwork. Each room has a private patio with a lake view. Meals and drinks are served on a terrace overlooking the lake with incomparable views. Skip Panajachel and go straight... more

Casa Palopo was simply beautiful. Aveda products, amazing beds, great furniture, very nice staff, but mostly loved the French pressed coffee for breakfast! Hotel overlooks Lake Atitlan and the volcanoes. Can't ask for more if you are looking for a beautiful place to relax for a couple of days. The only thing bad I can say is that I was... more

This was the last stop in our honeymoon trip, getting here was quite an adventure...bad roads and in our case bad weather. It is raining in September in Guatemala, we decided to make the best of it, it was our honeymoon after all. When we arrived, the staff was waiting for us. We walked in and were escorted to our... more

We spent three night at Casa Palopo and it was wonderful. When we arrived, there was a lightening storm going on across the lake lighting up all of the volcanos. We sat outside, had a wonderful bottle of wine, listened to Etta Fitzgerald and just enjoyed the show. We loved it - the views are AMAZING, the rooms are cozy,... more

We stayed in the junior suite, room 3, for two nights. At the end I told my wife to forward my mail to Casa Palopo, because I wasn't leaving. I've traveled over much of the world and stayed in many hotels, and this is one of the best I've ever enjoyed. It is expensive, but it is well worth it... more

We just returned from Guatemala and spent 3 nights at Casa Palopó in Lake Atitlán. We stayed in Room #1, the master suite, which had an extensive balcony with amazing views of the lake. The bedroom was very spacious and the sunken tub had glass doors opening to the balcony and to more stunning views of the lake. Our room... more

My Husband and I recently returned from our Honeymoon in Guatemala and, after seeing these raving reviews, spent 6 days at the Casa Polopo. I must say, it was absolutely beautiful. Our room was a suite, with a huge private terrace, amazing bathroom (with bathrobes!), closets, artwork, ect. We found the wait staff and the food to be quite good... more

We stayed here for just one night because Palopo came highly recommended from TripAdvisor and our tour operator, Journey Latin America. We wanted to see it before moving on to the Hotel Atitlan (qv). It is a trendy, designery boutique place that would like to regard itself as a sort of hideaway for the stars. It is priced accordingly. And... more

Sorry about this but I am going to repeat all the good things that have been said about this hotel. At least I can assure you that it is still as good as they all say. We stayed for a couple of nights but wish we had booked for much longer. This is the kind of place that is very... more
