Renovations appear to be ongoing at this hotel. One of 3 guest elevators was being replaced during my stay and the wait for the other two could take over 5 minutes in the morning. The service elevator was an option, however, not all buttons in the elevator work. I stayed on the 5th floor and my room had not seen... more

The InterContinental Caracas is probably your worst pick in the entire region considering the condition of the hotel and what you are paying to stay there. Every service, every meal is a rip off and the quality of the food will disgust you. The rooms appear to not have been refurbished in the past 30 years and hardly anything si... more

The hotel is in good condition considering its vintage. A room facelift would come handy, and service is average considering the country is not service-oriented as a whole. The pool and views from the bar are just amazing. more

So the good points were thus: Free wireless internet Great swimming pool Nice view across the city to the mountains However the list of things that didnt work, or were missing or... more

Stayed at this hotel from the 23 – 25 of November 2007. The room (business class, 8. and 9. floor) at USD 300, - pr. Night (weekend rate) was a bit worn down, but still acceptable because of its magnificent view over Caracas and its surrounding mountains. The area (Las Mercedes) is considered to be a safe spot in this... more

No Internet access in rooms – despite the website claiming that there is 4. Constant noise 5. Corridor had just been repainted and the room smelt of paint fumes 6. Safe did not... more

We stayed in this hotel in July of this year. We decided to book a nice hotel for the beginning of our stay in Venezuela. As seasoned travellers we have experienced accomadation good and bad and know the meaning of value for money. How this hotel can be called five star is beyond me. Ous problems began on the way... more

It is a shame that the excellent quality that one has come to associate with the Intercontinetal group is not to be found in this hotel. Upon arrival and departure we had to wait excessively long to book in and out of the hotel due to a limited number of people working in reception . It is difficult to imagine... more

This is total crap. Imagine a $39 hotal in Orlando and this is what you will find. Looks like an army went through the carpets for 2 decades. If you must stay... ask for the remodeled rooms. But they are still crap. I stayed in a remodeled room and there were three different types of shower courtain rings. My bed... more
