Quality Inn on Calumet Ave. in Hammond, In. is a TOTAL DUMP. Obnoxious odors waif when entering, a mixture of bleach and some other unidentifiable odor. Stayed there yesterday. At one time, this property was a "no-tell" motel, but the new owners/chain are changing this. The landscaping wasn't in yet (winter in Indiana) and the general area is desolate, but I grew up nearby and can tell you that this is not an unsafe area. Hotel is very clean...staff was great.
