For one thing, anyone who wants to go to some fancy resort to spend hundreds of dollars a night and drink champagne or something like that does not belong here. It's mexico and this resort is about relaxation and culture, not about luxuries. The staff was very friendly and we even began to call them by name. Everyone says the... more

My husband and 2 children visited the resort last Spring and really enjoyed all the activities that were offered. We learned to surf, rode horses, went on a river trip and go to see all kinds of wildlife. The food was good - not a huge menu but for 6 days, was just enough. Any longer, we would be looking... more

just spent an idyllic week at costa azul with my 15 year old son. if you like a taste of the real mexico, uncrowded beaches, small towns and a charming funky resort this is a great place. its well known for surfing and they take all levels out each morning to local beaches. some of the destinations are quite a... more

My Family reciently visited Costa Azul all 9 of us to be exact 7 adults and 2 infants. As this was my parents 6th trip here my sisters 2nd and my first. I wanted to tell every one what a wonderfull time we all had. The rooms were clean and spacious. The bed was firm (best for my back) and... more

The setting is absolutely beautiful but the place itself needs work. Luckily I had read other reviews and was somewhat prepared. We had 2 rooms; one for my husband and I and one for our kids. Our room that was in the main building was basic but ok. It was very roomy with a sitting area and balcony overlooking the... more

I was tracking a rare South swell in mid January and was expecting great conditions along with guides that knew the local waves really well. However, when I arrived, I quickly found out that Costa Azul is more about going on horse back riding trips and shopping trips than about surfing. There was only 2 surfers in the entire place... more

Traveling many times to Mexico to many different cities we know that Mexico is always an adventure. We really like this coastline and the little village of San Pancho and neighboring Saylita. The hotel is situated in a beautiful location where every room has an ocean view...but every room has many flaws, from fixtures hanging loose or falling off, to... more

My family and I just got back from a vacation at Costa Azul Resort and we are still daydreaming of the private beach, the restaurant, pool, trips, town, and people. The resort is located in a small town they call San Pancho. The town is lined with cobblestone roads beautiful flowers and palm trees and the sounds of the ocean.... more

Costa Azul is located in a great town, San Pancho, with a gorgeous and quiet (if you don't include the pounding of the waves) beach and a cute town with a handful of excellent restaurants. Costa Azul is the only resort in town and it has a very nice pool and restaurant facilties that appear to be well maintained. We... more

My husband and I have traveled to Costa Azul Adventure Resort many times in the last 9 years. As a young married couple we participated in as many adventures as we could cram into our visit; snorkeling, kayaking, & horse back riding, surfing & hiking to Yelapa. We are now parents of a 2 year old little dude and have... more
