I travel to San Francisco for business. I was my first visit to the city and I decied to take my 11 yr old to see some of the sites. The Palace was a great hotel. I read several reviews before deciding to stay here. My company has a list of hotels that we can stay in and out of... more

A Super hotel in centre of San Francisco. My wife wanted to see the hotel as she had read about it in a guide book. Took a tram from Fishermans Wharf and asked directions. This hotel is all it is made out to be and worth a visit just to look as,its rates we outside our price range but they... more

When you are looking for a truly historic experience, this is the place to stay. We stayed for three nights as a part of our honymoon. We were welcomed with champagne and strawberries. Staff was professional, helpfull and friendly. The room was big to European Standards, clean and had everything we needed. The location was great to, shops, china town,... more

I would highly recommend Palace Hotel. It has great downtown location just steps from the BART station (their subway). You can get from the San Francisco International to the hotel for 30 minutes. The hotel and the rooms were clean. I found out that I have an allergy to the detergent they wash their linen with and requested our sheets... more

I stayed here several days on business for a conference. It's located close to the convention center which was convenient for me. The dining area is just beautiful and the pool was very nice as well. The concierge was very helpful and recommended excellent restaurants. more

We loved that the Palace had a very old charm European feel to it. It was built in 1875! Location is very good for downtown. Rooms were nice enough but not amazing. Valet parking was $48 per night! Which is CRAZY! and internet access was $17 per night.. so even though we got a decent rate on the room, the... more

I visited The Palace with my 3 kids--we don't usually travel without my husband--but I felt very safe at The Palace. We considered the Fairmont--but I am glad we chose The Palace--I loved the location. We took BART in from the airport & it is right across the street from a BART stop. Also, walking distance to Chinatown--which is nice... more

I booked the flight and hotel through Orbitz before I checked Tripadvisor about the hotel. Then I worried if I made a mistake when I read some of the reviews about the thin walls and noise. That was wasted concern because the hotel was fantastic. The hotel was built in 1906 after the earthquake so the rooms are not huge... more

We visited the Palace Hotel with my two kids and nanny. We were able to get connecting rooms, which was difficult to find in the city. The rooms themselves were not big, but still comfortable. We were on the 6th floor facing an alley which was nice because it meant we didn't hear too much traffic noise. The rooms were... more

We've stayed here twice, and were very happy both times. This review is for our most recent stay. Check-in was easy for us (they have a Starwood Preferred line); but there were some tired and frustrated-looking guests (lots of families) waiting in the lobby. It was a Saturday afternoon, big day for check-ins, but only two front desk agents (and... more
