We loved our time here--the central location cannot be beat. One block from the cable car line, and walking distance to tons of restaurants and shops. We did not notice much noise like other reviews mentioned, exept on Saturday night. Quite a few revelers in town for the Memorial Day weekend. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the... more

This was our 3rd trip to San Francisco, but our first stay at The Donatello. We stayed here on 05/21/08 & 05/22/08. We had a room on the 9th floor. The hotel staff was very friendly, courteous and helpful. Our room was very clean. The comforter on the bed was probably the heaviest one I have ever found in a... more

We staid 6 nights in this hotel. We will come back in SF next year and will select it again. All is perfect. The staff is great, very friendly and always helpfull. Check in was only 1 minute but unfortunatly check out was the double: 2 minutes! No, I'm jocking. It was nice! The room is confortable, spacious and very... more

We chose the Donatello based on the good reviews on Trip Advisor. We arrived at the hotel around 10.30am after disembarking from a cruise and had requested an early check-in. We were very impressed when the reception staff were clearly expecting us and our room was ready - excellent! The room was just as shown on the website, clean, spacious... more

Nowadays it's tough to find a nice hotel with all the amenities in a big city for under $200 a night. Well, the Donatello exceeded all my expectations. The service was prompt, efficient, and friendly. Our room was spacious, very clean, and comfortable. The hotel provided all the services of the large chain, upscale hotels including concierge, bellmen, spa services,... more

We loved the Donatello. The staff was Great!!!!! Big and clean room. The room had a microwave and refigerator which really came in handy. The location was perfect. Very safe. Did I say the staff was Great!!!! The only complaint I had was the street noise on the weekend from the club across the street. We had brought ear plugs... more

Glenn the Concierge was great! He planned our whole trip from beginning to end for us hour by hour, dining, theater, sightseeing, everything. It felt as if we saw everything San Francisco had to offer yet still had time to enjoy our vacation. The house keeping was particularly friendly aspecially Thelma and Damaris. Jesus at the front desk always had... more

The Hotel was Great, just don't book your tours through the concierge. We booked one that included Muir Woods and the Wine country. The concierge or hotel uses a tour company called Extranomical Adventusan Fransico. They sent an 8 passenger van and put 15 people in it. It was so bad, we had to get off and not take the... more

Check the hotel website for their Sunday night special. (The closer to the weekend, the lower the price gets as long as they have rooms.) We had a King Suite: King bed (very comfortable), sitting area (couch, chair), entertainment center and wet bar (sink, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, real cups and glasses, silverware...) Noise was NOT a problem on Sunday night.... more
