Let me start out by saying that everyone has different expectations of their hotel experience. What I wanted was a clean room at a reasonable price ON THE BEACH. Not "near" the beach but I wanted to be right there. The Beach Cottages was the perfect place for my vacation style and budget. I stayed in the smallest/cheapest room in... more

My daughter (16) and two friends went to Comic-Con and wanted to spend the next day at the beach. I found The Beach Cottages and was worried they might not really be on the beach. When we arrived, I couldn't believe how close the Pacific Beach was to the hotel. We stayed in the North Building, and Trip Advisor reviewers... more

Stayed at the Beach Cottages for a long weekend with my sisters. The 3 days we were there the weather was really hot!! So that made the stay even better. The hotel is clean the people at the front desk were very nice. plenty of resturants, bars, and stores around the area. Next time we go to San Diego will... more

Just got back from a 4-day stay at the Beach Cottages. We stayed in the two bedroom apartment which include a kitchen (my husband and I have 4 teenagers). The rooms were clean, staff was helpful (though we had few needs), and the proximity to the beach made for a perfect location. There price is right - there aren't a... more

The view of the Pacific Ocean when you walk out your front door is the best thing about The Beach Cottages. I had a room on the third floor of the main building and was very pleased with my stay. The room was not large but the bed was comfortable and the housekeeper did a good job of cleaning and... more

Worked in San Diego and wanted to stay by the beach versus the sterile Marriott/Hilton properties I normally stay in. This place was right on the beach! A little dated, nothing special about the inside of the rooms, but who needs that when you have a balcony looking out to the ocean and beach. Internet wasn't reliable, it went down... more

We stayed at the Beach Cottages on Oct of 2007 past the busy season. The Cottages have several wings and we stayed in the West Wing facing the street. We had a balcony with a partial ocean view which was nice. But every night until about 1am there were drunken colleege kids and surfers walking up and down the street... more

The Beach Cottages are AWESOME. I didn't stay in one of the cottages, but in a room on the third floor of the main building. We had a balcony with a beautiful view. It was spotlessly clean. I figured being right on the beach it would have a sandy, grimy feel, but it didn't. The cleaners even sweep and mop... more

Stayed over the Labor day weekend. I knew they didn't have air conditioning in the rooms but I thought they would of worked out a way to venelate the rooms better. They did supply the room with a plug-in fan but the rooms get very hot when the doors are all closed. They don't have a patio security screen door... more
