Everything about this hotel was truely excellent. It was beautifully appointed both in the common areas as well as in the room. Well cared for by the attentive staff. I would say this qualified as one of my Favorite hotel stays in many moons. Beautiful sceneries from the rooms. Only thing missing is a pool, and if you're planning on... more

My husband and I stayed at the Marriott Gaslamp for two nights in July as part of a business personal trip. We loved this hotel! Check in was very smooth and there were lots of little candies on the counter which was a nice treat. We had a room on the 19th floor that was spacious and clean. The TV... more

Just returned from a three night stay at Marriott Gaslamp Quarter. Paid $229 per night for water view king standard room with AAA rate. This hotel has plenty of positive things going for it. Friendly & helpful staff greeting us by the curb and at the check in counter. Beautiful hotel throughout & doesn't feel like a chain hotel -... more

I chose the Gaslamp Marriott for it's proximity to a training class I was taking. On a previous trip to SD, I stayed at the downtown Courtyard and was very impressed by the property and service. While this was an excellent stay, it did not clear the bar set by the Courtyard. The hotel is adjacent to Petco Park (behind... more

The hotel is located in the Gaslamp Square District downtown, just a few blocks from the Convention Center where my company was having meetings all week. Only about 3 blocks away-easy walking. Hotel is not your typical Marriott, was a former Clarion Hotel, which was turned into a Marriott about 5 yrs ago. So, the walls are a bit thin,... more

I try to stay at Marriotts as often as I can on vacation for the simple fact that they are wonderful but this hotel far exceeded my expectations. I would have to say that this is probably the best Marriott experience I have had in quite a while. Check-in was quick and all the employees are extremely friendly, but not... more

For a romantice getaway weekend, we were looking for a warm location where we could relax. My wife loves to sit by the pool and read magazines. I looked up on TripAdvisor a few options in the gaslamp district because we were intending on only walking. We were not coming to see the sights. At first, we looked only at... more

The wife and I took our anniversary trip to San Diego. We chose this hotel because it was in the middle of everything and you know what you're going to get with Marriott. The hotel it self was beautiful and the staff very helpful and friendly. The only thing I didn't like was this hotel did not have a pool.... more

Nice size rooms with very modern look. Window from room overlooked petco park and was very nice. Clean hotel and rooms, with very attentive staff. Great valet staff and checkin took about 30 seconds. Will return when back in San Diego and would recommend it to anyone traveling there. (the area is also great with many restaurants to walk to,... more

One of the nicest Marriotts I've ever stayed at, and I've been to a few dozen. Everything seemed pretty new. The room was clean, fresh, and very pleasant. The bed was standard Marriott plushness. The TV worked fine (although it was a standard flat-screen CRT, not an LCD). The bathroom was well-stocked and water pressure was pretty good on the... more
