Great Southern cooking in an urban setting. more
Great place for romantic evening or first date. They have an excellent menu... more
Good southern, but a little noisy at lunch more
This was 'upscale' southern food with an upscale price. I had the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and blackberry cobbler. All were better than good but not spectacular. The restaurant was very noisy and packed so I recommend reservations. The server was very friendly and efficient. more
I wanted real southern cooking and everyone I asked recommended this place. They were not mistaken. I had the Fried Green Tomatoes, the Shrimp & Scallops over grits, a side of collard greens and the most magnificent banana pudding. This is a "little bit fancy" but relaxed place. I dined there alone and felt very comfortable doing so. more
well we ate at the midtown location before a concert at symphony hall (easy walking distance) and it was perfect for us. the service was attentive and friendly, the atmoshere was warm and not too stuffy, and the food was comfort food (fried chicken mashed potatos, etc) prepared and presented with style without being disrespectful to our southern taste. more
Southern home cooking, with a classic twist... by far my favorite. Good selection, plus the specials are fantastic and very original. Great red wine selection at reasonable prices for a white tablecloth restaurant. more
I had the fried chicken, and green beans. It's served on mashed potatoes, but I substituted those for the blue cheese mac & cheese. Very good. Chicken liver appetizer is excellent. more
