i have lived in ri all my life and been to every fine restaurant in ri at least once. cappricchios is way overrated. first off, its in a basement. second, ALL of the waiters and hosts take you for stupid and think they are doing you, the customer, a favor. two of my companions ordered a steak cooked medium well.... more

After a delicious Italian meal and feeling very full, I ordered lemon sorbet for dessert. It was made on the premises and tasted wonderful until.......I felt something on my tongue. Capriccio is one of those old school, black-tie, white linen restaurants. It almost feels like going back in time to the days when fancy restaurants served all the classics like Chateaubriand and Beef Wellington. Just a really nice “classy” place. Great wine list. Perfect for special occasions. more

Service is not important here, This place is vastly over rated. I had one of the worst servers that I have ever had in any restaurant. This was the first fancy restaurant we ever went to (eight years ago or so). I think my husband took me there for Valentine’s day or some such occasion. This restaurant is highly recommended by many and is one of the more expensive places in Providence for Italian food. The location is ideal sitting across from the river on a corner, parking is terrible but there are valets and garages nearby. The interior is low ceilings and a bit cramped.
