Hello everyone, we were thinking of driving to Rincon

on the weekend for the day. About how long will the

drive take and is that too much for a day trip. Are

things open on the weekend like Steps Beach ?

It will take around 3 to 3.5 hours each way. I suggest you spend the night in Rincon and back to Palmas in the morning. Also, you can go to Rincon thru south and back to Humacao thru North. Steps beach and other beaches like Sandy beach and Dommes can be accessed every day since they are not run by the goverment.

Yeah, you are looking at 3.5 hrs each way. That was too much driving for a "day trip". Why waste value vacation time driving so far?

There are many great places to visit much closer to PDM.

For what you would spend in gas, you could hop the plane to Culebra and spend the day enjoying beaches and snorkeling!

I totally agreee with FlowerFarm...

unless you spend a night in Rincon, you will spend more time driving than at Rincon and wont have much time to enjoy it.

(unless you leave at the crack of dawn and come back around 9pm)

There arent flights from the Fajardo airport or Humacao airport (which doesnt operate like it used to, so its just a private airport now) to the west coast. Your best bet would be to call the International airport or the Isla Grande airport, both in San Juan area.

You could probably get a flight over to Aguadilla's airport... but then you wouldnt have a car.

If you dont feel you are up for all that work, catch a flight from Fajardo and go to either Vieques or Culebra. YOU WONT REGRET IT
