These are the folks in LaSalle. I went a few years ago for part I a friend's bachlorette party & we had an awesome time. It helped that it was like 80 something degrees. We did the jet boating & there are a few rapids that soaked us pretty good. It's a very pleasant ride, at times a bit rough, but very exciting. And surprisingly there were some serene, peaceful moments where we felt very close to nature (seeing those majestic herons for example). You also have some really good vistas of downtown Montreal from the St. Lawrence river. I would definitely do it again, but for me, it's got to be hot outside since the river seemed rather cool.

When jet boating through the Lachine rapids (some of which are really large!), it is easy to understand how the French explorers decided to set up camp on lands the aboriginal people called Hochelaga rather than attempt to get to La Chine (China) by sailing through the rapids.

thanks for the info, a bunch of guys with hangover prob wont care about the nature and setting...what we are really looking for is some really rough rapids...for 2 hrs how much time is really spend in the rapids

also is rafting more, as fun or less fun than jet boating (given our above noted desires)

Definitely the jet boating. Out of 2 hours, you're zipping around so much it's hard to say but there's lots of rapids out there. Why not call the operators & ask, also maybe check to see if the water level this time of year makes the rapids tamer or wilder. I seem to recall the level was low in August, thus exposing more rock & the rapids were more intense. As mentioned, we were a bunch of girls kicking off a bachlorette party & it was a great start to an awesome weekend.

I don't think there's ever been an accident - we would certainly have heard about it in the local news.

I've been jet boating and rafting with them, and had a whale of a time. But I agree with the previous poster: for more excitement, go with the jet boating.

It's totally safe; the staff puts your security first and the equipement they have is not from 1967; it's almost new and in good condition (life jackets, helmets, etc..). I went twice last summer for rafting and had a blast! It's good times at a reasonable price.
