I am a bit confused with the information I am getting regarding this transit visa.

I thought one can apply for the visa upon arrival at the Dubai International airport - for a 3days/2 nights stay, flying on Emirates airlines and the city package arranged by Arabian Adventures.

But now, Emirates is saying to get the visa before we go. The visa takes 10-days and we are leaving in 7-days. Very confusing. Also, the website of the UAE embassy said the embassy does not issue this type of visa and that Emirates airlines or hotels need to sponsor you. Kind of hard, ain't it? Please help - out of time for applying a visa until arrival in Dubai. Tried to call the embassy for more info and assistance but the staff was kind of rude. Thanks.
