Comfort Inn San Juan

Not luxurious but fine

Overall, this hotel is a fine choice if you’re looking for modest accommodations. Nothing fancy, but it’s clean and the staff is very friendly. The complimentary continental breakfast is substantial.

Inexpensive choice for a short break

If you plan to stay in San Juan only for one day or two, this hotel can be OK. It is inexpensive and in a fairly good location, but don’t expect too much from it.

Comfortable place to stay

My husband and I spent 6 days in Puerto Rico. The hotel, while old, was very clean. The rooms were of a good size. They did smell musty though.They were also a little dreary, but okay for a shower and sleeping. We didn’t spend much time there. The front desk persons, Juan and Brenda were very helpful in giving directions. The continental breakfast was good and well attended. The hotel was a block from the beach and main Ashford Ave. It was in walking distance to many restaraunts and stores, including Walgreens. The bus was also a block away. It costs 75 cents, correct change only and the drivers will not answer any questions.

Old San Juan is a whole day trip. The trolleys are free and will take you all over. Fort El Morro was very interesting. Also, if you’re into that kind of thing, a tour to El Yunque rainforest is a real treat. Be prepared to do a lot of walking up and down hills. After that the tour bus stopped at a small restaraunt there where they just served Puerto Rican food. Very good. It usually is rainy up there too. People in Puerto Rico are very friendly and we never felt unsafe.

Not Impressed

I guess I have been "lucky" in the past to have better rooms for the price we paid for the Comfort Inn. As a consequence, I have to say the overall impression we had was poor. Very friendly and helpful staff, but the hotel itself needs a complete refurb. Other than the continental breakfast which was good, our stay was depressing to say the least.

To enjoy the night life of San Juan, you have to stay as close as you can get to The Old Town. If you stay in an area other than the Old Town, there is very little happening and very little to see.

Average place, great location, value for money

You get what you pay for. Condado is probably the best location (if not for ISLA Verde) to stay in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Hotel staff was friendly. Rooms were average sized. Best part is easy accessibility to all locations from here.

Very Conveiniently Located

The Comfort Inn is in a great location. Right in the middle of the Condado area and a block from the beach. There are great restaurants within a short walk.

Traveler's tip on dining

I highly recommend two restaurants in the area. The Waikiki is great for dinner with its back patio area right over the beach. The Latin Star is great for local quisine. I wanted lobster there and they were out so they had it brought from another restaurant close by. Now that is service!!! Another good restaurant recommended by locals is Angels. Both of these restaurants are very reasonably priced and Waikiki is a little higher but worth the difference.

Good Quality hotel in condado!

It’s a great hotel in the condado area. The staff were very nice. My room was very clean. Parking was a problem, but I managed to get a spot after looking very hard.
