the housekeeping service at the suite was not so good. every day was uncomplete the service.

Nice location

Hotel is quite good. The location is superb as it is easy to catch a train and go anywhere. The rooms are adequately sized and room amenities are what is expected from this type of hotel. Gym, pool and health club are nice extra’s.

Brief stay in May 2008

I didn’t know what to expect when I got there. I had never stayed at a hotel from this chain. I stayed 4 days and went back for 1 additional day a week later. I am extremely happy with the level of service provided by everyone of the 5-6 hotel staff persons I interacted with. The hotel is modern, clean, comfortable and the location is very central. In fact, I am suprised at the rate given the quality of the service and of the facility. I highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was really great. The only thing I would say that was not great was the in-room fridge. They said there would be one, but it was the mini bar. So, you had to take everything out to use it. And, it didn’t keep anything very cold. The room was very comfortable and clean and was in a perfect location for anyone visiting Sydney. We walked to the Rocks, the Harbor Bridge, Darling Harbour, many restaurants and TONS of stores. They do have a hair dryer in the room and America plug in adapters you can use (at the front desk).

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Buy a calling card to use to call back to the States though. I bought one at Woolworths in Sydney and could call back every day and only used $3 of the $10 card. You do have to pay $1.25 per call to the hotel, but overall it was pretty cheap to touch base at home. Would highly recommend. Our Verizon cell phone had absolutely no service.

Convenient and comfortable

I have stayed in this hotel twice, the geographical position makes ot great to access almost anywhere easily, great for tourist and business. It is not a glossy, fancy hotel, but it is very comfortable, and clean, and quite modern. The staff are friendly. I am very fussy on where I stay ( mostly re comfort and cleanliness), and I have no hesitation recommending this hotel.

Traveler's tip on shopping

Go to the Victoria biulding, just 200 metres away, for any upscale shopping, very nice products but sometimes quite pricey.

surprisingly impressive

if partner and i ever get a chance to go back...we are staying in this hotel again! room was excellent! staff was very helpful especially the concierge... great food, excursion tips ;) only problem i encountered was with inroom food service...ordered breakfast n what was delivered was different than what the menu said, i guess they substituted but did not inform me beforehand - not a big fan of surprises when it comes to food! the manager fixed it though but not after giving me a speech that i have to report it immediately well i happen to have a very bad temper so i needed to cool down first anyways it was all taken care of. we were given a corner room, relatively very quiet, great views - we loved it!

go see blue mountain - so beautiful! and visit featherline wildlife - pet a koala and feed kangaroos...loved it all animals upclose and personal! oh and take the jet boat...so much fun especially on a warm day-get wet! sydney is very expensive so be prepared!

Best Move We Ever Made

We moved to the Swissotel from another hotel that was plagued by problems and an indifferent staff. The Swissotel was completely different. For the same price, we got a room on the 22nd floor that was huge, with a large bath that had a tub and separate shower. It also included breakfast and an evening reception that had enough food to suffice for dinner. The staff were attentive and efficient. it was also a great way to meet fellow travellers.

Traveler's tip on shopping

Check out the Paddy’s market near Chinatown for bargains and souvenirs. However, avoid Chinatown itself, as its extremely expensive by North American standards. The Fish Market is also great. You can buy chilled wine and raw oysters and other seafood and have a picnic at tables on the wharf.

All the service at Swissotel Sydney is very good!! I have made myself comfortable there. Why don’t you use this hotel?

Center of City

The location is a major benefit of the hotel. You walk outside and you are instantly in the middle of the shopping district. You are a short walk to Chinatown, the Harbor, and train stations. There is a food court a 2 minute walk away with over 20 food vendors. The opera house and harbors are about an 8 minute bus ride away. The staff is the other key factor in this hotel. They aim to please above all. The concierges are extremely helpfull and will tell you everything from what bus gets you anywhere, what restaraunt to go to, and where you can go clubbing any day or time of the week. They know every hot spot.

Cool European design hotel

I stayed this hotel for 4 days. From the outside, it looks like the office building. But inside is very cool and trandy. Especially I love the bathroom. The shower room is separated from the bath tub. It is so cool. The front desk and bell boys are very friendly and nice. I want to go back to stay this hotel.

We loved staying here. It’s a great location in the city and a very comfortable hotel. The service was great as well.

Great Sydney Hotel

The hotel was really lovely and most accomodating. We got there quite early and were able to check-in. We had a couple of issues with towels at the pool - they were hard to get at times. Also the area was great for sightseeing but not good for restaurants. There was a terrific food court in an adjacent mall but it was difficult to find anywhere else to eat nearby that wasn’t asian. Overall though, a very nice hotel.

Central Location was the best!

They were very accomadating in all areas. The concierge service was wonderful. Whatever the problem they fixed it. The location was fabulous and all staff were wonderful.

As always it is cheaper to get a bite to eat as you walk around the town , down in Chinatown or at the Wharf.

Clean, well kept, convenient, friendly, service-oriented, comfortable room, would rebook.

Conveniently located

The great thing about the hotel is its location in the heart of Sydney CBD. It’s just next to the Sydney Tower. It’s also reasonably priced considering its hardware and service. Don’t expect very good view as there are many tall or taller buildings around it. The hotel has a small entrance on a main street and the lobby is located on the 8th floor. This means you need to take the lift twice to get to the floor where you are staying. The staff are prompt to provide better service. They were quick to fix the wireless internet network on the executive floor when we found it wasn’t working. However, we also found they were not always as polite as we would expect.

The buffet served in the revolving restaurant at the top of Sydney Tower is appalling. Food is lousy and there is a long wait before you can get the food. Try the a la carte restaurant instead. Or just go up to take in the view, which is amazing.

Wonderful Stay

Location of the Swissotel was perfect for me. Major shopping area right at the doorstep! I walked to Darling Harbor and took the tube, which was about 4 blocks away, to the Circular Quay (Opera House). Buses on George St., one block over, also run to Circular Quay. And the monorail stop is close by. The hotel staff was courteous and efficient. I was told I had been upgraded upon checkin. My room on the 20th floor was comfortable and very quiet and very clean. I enjoyed a wonderful stay.

If you like shopping , this hotel is the one.

When we arrived to the hotel , it had a diffrent look of an entrance, where you have to go by the lift to the 8th floor to reach the receiption.But once we entered our rooms it was good room which has all what you need and it was clean and the service were very good. At the end I could say we got what we paid for and even littel bet more.

Great Hotel

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. I called down to ask for a power adaptor and they sent it up in about 30 seconds. It’s really close to the Queen Victoria shopping center (only the most beautiful mall I have ever been in- architecture, etc) and a monorail that stops at a lot of the main sights.
