Great Deal

This was a great deal. Although the rooms were small, the bed was really comfortable and there is beach access. The hotel is located on the main strip and is close to a lot of places. I recommend to anyone as an inexpensive option!

The best central and quiet location in Maui. Wish they had continental breakfast all the time.

This was my third time at this hotel. Although there seems to be considerable wear to the decking on the 2nd floor, it is still one of the best central and quiet places to stay. The staff is always good humored and helpful. The proximity to Keawapaku beach is also wonderful. Thank you again for a wonderful experience

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

The beach is great until the wind kicks up around 1 or 2 in the afternon. Then do a great afternoon activity. The first full day, I definitely recommend early beach, luch out, then an afternoon at the aquarium and a relaxing dinner. Hit the ABC store or a grocery store for bottled water and snacks for the car and the room. Also really do your research on activities and adventures before you leave.

Great Location! Great Hotel!

The Best Western Maui Oceanfront Inn was wonderful! The staff was very friendly, the room was perfect, and the location could not have been any better. We were up by 5AM each morning and went for a run on the beach as it was right outside our door. Housekeeping was very attentive and friendly.

There is a restaurant attached to the hotel, but it is $$$$$$! Right across the lawn at the hotel next door is a great bar/restaurant that has an awesome happy hour and is much more affordable.

Great value by the ocean

Hotel was right next to the beach. Rooms were a little small, but no need to spend a lot of time in the room when you are in Maui. We had some trouble wiht our door lock, but it was taken care of quickly.

Great for the traveler on a Budget ..

This hotel was very well worth it for the price, I was impressed with the location (beachfront) and the rooms were very clean, My AC broke down so it was sticky for a day but they quickly fixed it. I would definitely recomend this to people on a budget. Try to ask for a corner room since they have the most windows and get the best light (I am a sunshine person)I got an interior room and it was little dark but with the beach steps away I didnt mind it...Over all a great deal!

Great Beach Location

The Best Western in Maui has a great location on the beach. The hotel is well maintained. Although, we did have trouble with the air conditioner, so we did have to move to another room. The bathroom sink counter top is small. But these are minor inconveniences. I will definitely consider returning because of the nice beach that the hotel is on.

Great hotel with great beach

There is a coral reef on the beach perfect for snorkeling and seeing tropical fish. Everything was great except the shower curtian smelled and the smoke detector was chirping. The maid fixed both of these right away. The TV did not work some of the time. They said they are having tv trouble. But you are on Maui get out and enjoy the sunshine! The staff was helpful and easy to work with.

BEST WESTERN MAUI OCEANVIEW INN is located right on one of the best beaches in Maui.I like to rise early and after my room coffee service stroll down to the tepid, sparkling waters which are calm enough to not knock the glorious happiness out of me. The Hotel has large, white lounges set on a grassy area above the sand where I do my reading and know that my room will be made up for me when I return. The service is excellent. When I decide to grill or get a sandwich for dinner, there is a nice little store steps away from the hotel. The fridge and microwave in the room really helps. The important thing is just when I can return here to Paradise. I pick up my cell and call for a pizza. I’ll cook tomorrow.

The Hotel staff is very helpful about information on public transportation. I had no car, but they told me how and where to pick up the local bus which took me to the shopping center in Wailea. There are many other spots where the bus will take you, but Wailea is full of great restaurants and exciting shops where I visit often and find all the cafes outstanding.

Good the 2nd time around too

This was my second weekend at this Inn. Though the rooms are small, they are comfortable. I was disappointed when there was no maid service while I was there. 2 nights and no one checked my room. Oh well. Great access to the beach and local restaurants.

Fat Daddy’s up the street has awesome BBQ ribs at a reasonable price. Also, Da Kitchen has great local food.

Great Location

Small rooms fine for a short stay. Everything you need just not a lot of room. Great access to the Beach, Town, and other attractions of the south part of the island. I would go back.

good cheap hotel at nice place

It was our honneyweek ;-). This is a great place to stay for reasonable price. The location and its beach is great, snorekeling there is pretty good. If you are not going to spend all your time at the hotel and would like to see Maui and other places and save money that’s the perfect choice!

Location, Location!

This place fits the reviews--it is small but comfortable for 2 people. The location is FANTASTIC--some of the best Maui beach and snorkeling is right outside your door with 2 great restaurants to walk to. The staff doesn’t really seem to care much about service but they’re not terrible. I would return here for the money for sure. Biggest drawback--connecting room neighbor can be easily heard and space around door allows light, etc.--we had quiet neighbors and we were only there to sleep, so we were ok--no bathroom fan--and the bathroom is right by that adjoining door....hmmm

be sure to eat next door at the 5 Palms--all meals! Great MaiTais, too! (Best Western staff don’t mention this place next door for some reason). Also there is a "general Store" in the same location called Zack’s--really great for all kinds of stuff. Go to Snorkel Bob’s to rent chairs, snorkel stuff, unbrella, etc.--really easy return system.

World’s Smallest Hotel Rooms

While the hotel and the room were very clean I swear it was the smallest room I have ever stayed in. My husband and I couldn’t walk past each other. One of us would have to move out of the way of the other to get past each other. The parking lot was also very small and narrow and hard to park in. There were not enough spaces to accomodate both guests and restaraunt patrons that needed to have their cars parked. I wouldn’t really recommend this room if you are wanting someplace luxurious and roomy.

It’s good for the money - Good for couples

We went in June 2008 with the kids and had 2 rooms but the rooms were very small and bathroom smelled a little bit. So we kept the windows open. Hotel is at the end of the strip in Kihei. If you are going with kids, I would recommend some place in Laheina.

Location Location Location

I enjoyed my stay. The beach was literally steps away from my door so I didn’t have to pack up for the beach. The room was very small and had absolutely no view but was pleasantly furnished. Had a micro wave, fridge and TV that seemed to be permanently set on HBO. There were two glitzy resorts on either side that shared the same beach so if you felt like going up scale it was right there. Very good value for someone who just wants to relax, spend time on the beach and maybe do some sight seeing.

Would stay again

It is a nice place to stay and we were pleased with a very clean room, yes, rooms would be considered a bit small but we found ourselves very comfortable and after all, did not spend very much time inside our room. The microwave and mini-fridge served us well and we will stay again in a future trip to Maui without hesitation and recommend it highly.

excellent for a 2 star

For a small hotel we were impressed. We up graded our room to an ocean front suite and that made our whole trip. The balcony over looked the beach. The rooms were very well kept. The parking could have been better because the hotel shared it with the restaurant next door. We would return to this hotel if we ever get back to Maui.

Can’t beat the location!

If you are looking for a large resort hotel with pools and alot of amenities then this is not the hotel for you. If you want an affordable hotel with a great location you may want to consider the Best Western Maui Oceanfront. The standard rooms are pretty small, almost uncomfortably small. The day after checking in we were able to upgrade to an oceanfront suite which was 2 standard rooms turned into a suite. The suite was so close to the water and turned our stay from good to great, I would highly recommend trying to upgrage if you plan on staying here. If you plan on being out and about and not spending a lot of time at the hotel then the standard rooms are okay. If you need more amenities and activities on property then I would not recommend this hotel. But it’s on a beautiful beach and it a clean, comfortable place to lay your head after a day on the beach.

Home away from home....

And for the right price. Great location, super friendly staff, just what you need if you are on Maiu to enjoy the island not, to hang out with your children by the pool. For a single traveling woman it was perfect.

pleasant stay

We enjoyed our stay at the Oceanfront Inn. I had read all the reviews before our visit and saw virtual pictures of the room and so, there were really no suprises, just as I expected. There are bbq grills and picnic tables available. We all had fun cooking out one night. Other wise, they really need an area for guests to congregate. Rooms were very clean and have towel service at desk. Only complaint is that housekeeper often turned off our air and it wasn’t the best in the first place so we were quite upset after being out hiking all day and coming home to hot, stuffy room. Overall, I liked Kihei and hotel good value.
