We weren't sure what to expect, but the grounds are extremely lush and well kept. Lots of entertainment (dancing, games, Spanish lessons, Latin dance classes, scuba diving, snorkeling on-site), the service was excellent, the food was very, very good... overall we had a relaxing and fun experience.

This is mostly a nudist resort, not a swingers resort, at least when we were there. We could hear the ocean from everywhere on the property, except from the disco. Our unit was a suite about 100 feet from the beach and I loved the constant lulling of the water. The massages were just ok - whether we got a sports massage or an "Amma" (pressure point) massage, they were all basically Swedish- very gentle. We took the ATV 4 wheeler trip into the mountains and saw beautiful farms and lush landscapes.

I highly recommend this resort. Also, the weather was perfect in December- 80s during the day and low 70s at night, with a nice ocean breeze most of the time.

Employees who stood out include: Brian and Angela (entertainment directors), Orlando (really funny and sweet Beach Club bartender), Anna (another bartender), Jose (waiter) and the managers (Sinclair and Vaughn).

Another interesting aspect of the resort was all the internationals. A lot of the guests were from Moscow or other Eastern Bloc countries and from all over Europe and Canada. It made for an interesting mix and wild Spanish accents!

Eden Bay, a sister resort to Caliente Tampa, is one of the best kept secrets of the Dominican!

A seaside resort, built into a cliff, with limited sand beach is there for the taking.

A clothing optional resort, done tastefully, simply and relaxing! The staff is personal, smiling, willing to assist you any way possible.

The food is plentiful, tasty, not too overdone for the sensitive stomach. The pig roast every friday night on the beach is the ultimate.

Accomodations are varied in price and location throughout the resort.....sea cliff apartments with a panoramic view, hillside bungalows offer privacy and view, and the oceanfront villas are all affordable. Upgrades are usually available upon arrival.

Each night is a theme night, activities at the pool and beach bar morning and afternoon, nightly entertainment, and disco for the late night dancers.

Management is on site and readily available with any concerns or comments, or just to have dinner with.

Check it out, we are repeat visitors and will be going back again.

May 2007 Phillip from Seattle.....From the first time that I made my reservations through Christie at Caliente the trip was great! I flew from Newark to Puerto Plata. The shuttle took about two hours and only broke down once due to a flat tire. My first impression of the grounds when I arrived were impressive. After my welcome drink, I was given a brief intro to the resort and then down to my villa. The villa was nicely decorated and very clean. The bathroom, bedroom and the kitchen exceeded my expections. The beach and the grounds were also clean and well maintained. The beach isn't much for swimming; however, snorkeling can be done once past the rocks. On Friday night, dinner was served in the beach veranda, as were your lunches. The breakfast and dinners were served in the restaurant. Every night the dinner menu was something different served with your coice of beverage. If you went away from a meal hungry, it was by your own choice. The waitstaff spoke english and were very professional in their duties. There is a workout room nicely stocked with the latest equipment. The resort is clothing optional and nudity is the norm; however, dinner appeared to be a shirt and shorts attire. The all-inclusive plan was nice and I never needed money except when I left for town and when I checked out I left a tip (not required). I will plan to go again this year as I felt safe and enjoyed the atmosphere of the resort. There are other clothing optional resorts; however, the management and the staff make it an enjoyable time.

We had a wonderful trip- Good food, beautiful grounds and a most excellent staff. TAxi driver waiting for us at the airport even though flight was an hour late. New rooms with all new insides and air conditioning.
We had a wonderful time - very nice guests- met nice people, many were owners, at the evening meal. Good internet access.
No complaints, unlike last trip (to Braco in Jamaica).
