My wife and I stayed at Las Brisas Acapulco from May 5-11. Thank you to all of the other reviews that helped us make our decision to go to Las Brisas. This is the first review I have ever posted and am posting because it was truely a great experience.
Before we arrived at Las Brisas I contacted via email Carmen in the management office to inquire about an upgrade because it was our honeymoon. She was very kind and prompt with her replies. We booked a junior suite and were upgraded to a master suite with proof of our marriage (marriage certificate). We booked our trip through Expedia and got a pretty good deal and come to find out it was becase it was after Cinco de Mayo.
The check in process was a breeze and we were in our room in a matter of 10 minutes. The Jeeps that transport you to and from your room are fun and the drivers were all very conversational and helpful. We stayed in room 504 which was nothing short of magical. The view was fantastic, the pool was clean, the mini bar was stocked, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was modern and clean. Oh, and the AC worked! It was 90 to 95 degrees and sunny every single day with not a drop of rain. We ate at all the restaurants at Las Brisas and every one was great. The first night we ate at the BellaVista restaurant which has a spectacular view and great service. The food was prepared great and the presentation was impressive. The portions were relatively large for a high end restaurant and we didnt have any room for desert! The wine selection was decent (we had a local Mexican wine).
Our fpther favorite part of Las Brisas was the La Concha Beach Club. I felt like Las Brisas didnt really hype up this too much on their website but they certainly should. It has two huge salt water pools that have access to the ocean and another fresh water pool with a swim up bar. I had no idea there was even a swim up bar at the beach club. Needless to say it was a pleasant surprise. The restaruant at the La Concha beach club was awesome. The food was great and the view was beautiful.
i have a few recommendations if you are visiting Acapulco! First, be prepared to spend some money. It is not a cheap place in general. Next, if you can, go to the local Wal-Mart and stock up on beer and wine and any snacks you may want. Finally, hire a tour guide for the week and contact them before you go. We used Sebastian Hernandez, who I found off of Trip Advisor, and he was great!!!! I contacted him via email before we left. eskp_rsh@hotmaildotcom
He asked for our itenerary and was there to pick us up even though our flight was delayed two hours. His car (town car) was clean and cool. He was never late and gave us great recommendations for dinner and sight seeing. His tour of the Chapel of Peace was an absolute must. He took us to the cliff divers and got us the best seat in the house. He arranged a fishing trip with someone he uses and we caught a 150 lb Sailfish!! One night he had a prior engagement with one of his kids and he sent his Gradfather to pick us up and take us to dinner. That is just one example of how great Sebastian Hernandez was!!
We did not experience the nightlife too much in Acapulco and it was mostly because our room at Las Brisas was so awesome. Safe Travels
