My wife and I stayed at Las Brisas Acapulco from May 5-11. Thank you to all of the other reviews that helped us make our decision to go to Las Brisas. This is the first review I have ever posted and am posting because it was truely a great experience.
Before we arrived at Las Brisas I contacted via email Carmen in the management office to inquire about an upgrade because it was our honeymoon. She was very kind and prompt with her replies. We booked a junior suite and were upgraded to a master suite with proof of our marriage (marriage certificate). We booked our trip through Expedia and got a pretty good deal and come to find out it was becase it was after Cinco de Mayo.
The check in process was a breeze and we were in our room in a matter of 10 minutes. The Jeeps that transport you to and from your room are fun and the drivers were all very conversational and helpful. We stayed in room 504 which was nothing short of magical. The view was fantastic, the pool was clean, the mini bar was stocked, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was modern and clean. Oh, and the AC worked! It was 90 to 95 degrees and sunny every single day with not a drop of rain. We ate at all the restaurants at Las Brisas and every one was great. The first night we ate at the BellaVista restaurant which has a spectacular view and great service. The food was prepared great and the presentation was impressive. The portions were relatively large for a high end restaurant and we didnt have any room for desert! The wine selection was decent (we had a local Mexican wine).
Our fpther favorite part of Las Brisas was the La Concha Beach Club. I felt like Las Brisas didnt really hype up this too much on their website but they certainly should. It has two huge salt water pools that have access to the ocean and another fresh water pool with a swim up bar. I had no idea there was even a swim up bar at the beach club. Needless to say it was a pleasant surprise. The restaruant at the La Concha beach club was awesome. The food was great and the view was beautiful.
i have a few recommendations if you are visiting Acapulco! First, be prepared to spend some money. It is not a cheap place in general. Next, if you can, go to the local Wal-Mart and stock up on beer and wine and any snacks you may want. Finally, hire a tour guide for the week and contact them before you go. We used Sebastian Hernandez, who I found off of Trip Advisor, and he was great!!!! I contacted him via email before we left. eskp_rsh@hotmaildotcom
He asked for our itenerary and was there to pick us up even though our flight was delayed two hours. His car (town car) was clean and cool. He was never late and gave us great recommendations for dinner and sight seeing. His tour of the Chapel of Peace was an absolute must. He took us to the cliff divers and got us the best seat in the house. He arranged a fishing trip with someone he uses and we caught a 150 lb Sailfish!! One night he had a prior engagement with one of his kids and he sent his Gradfather to pick us up and take us to dinner. That is just one example of how great Sebastian Hernandez was!!
We did not experience the nightlife too much in Acapulco and it was mostly because our room at Las Brisas was so awesome. Safe Travels

After reading over 200 reviews on this site, I decided to book my trip and visit Acapulco. How can 200+ people be wrong???

We arrived in Acapulco and bypassed the vultures at the gate a.k.a. Timeshare Mexicans. We met the cab drivers outside and quickly negotiated a price to our hotel with a stop at Walmart for $20.. not bad. The cab driver then led us to his personal/taxi vehicle. I was uneasy at first, but then again we were in Mexico. I quickly told my husband that I would get off and he would stay with the cab driver while I shopped. Hint Hint: I don't want my belongings to disappear. Luckily the cab driver volunteered to help us with our purchases. We all got down and bought water, alcohol, beer, soda, floats for the pool, etc. We were able to find everything we were looking for, including the 6-pack for the driver. A lovely ride up the mountain and we were there!

Pink paradise!!! The cab driver helped us with our bags and groceries and the bus boy tended our bags while we went inside and checked in. The Front Desk was incredibly helpful. I had reserved a Junior Suite online and they had upgraded us to a Master Suite, but I ofcourse wanted a Jacuzzi Suite since the pools are not heated and I get cold easily. They were even kind enough to show me the Casita before making my decision. The pink frozen margaritas they gave us in the lobby were perfect and check-in was a breeze.

I got up early each morning and brought in our breakfast so it wouldn't spoil as others had said. Never had that problem. The fruit was fresh, the coffee was hot and the pastries and muffins.. to die for. Room Service was excellent. I suggest the Botana Mexicana. It's pretty much a Mexican Sampler with tacos, quesadillas, and some other things I can't pronounce. Hits the spot!

We could not believe the view! In the distance we had Islands, we were right next to the Sunset Bar so we practically had our own "Sunset Bar." We brought our iPod and speakers so we found no need to go to the night clubs because we had our own. The bedroom was cozy and the bathroom was spacious. We even had a large couch/bed outside along with a table and chairs. We emptied out all of the contents from the mini bar and filled it with our own stuff...made ourselves at home. I spoke with the concierge and reserved a Romantic Dinner for the following evening. The dinner is served by your private pool surrounded by flower petals and candle light. Everyone loves Bella Vista, but you can't beat having a private romantic dinner where you have total privacy. And the view is just as amazing from your casita at night. We had our own bottle of champagne and they brought us flutes and a chiller. The maids came by and offered us turndown service and we let them in. They left us fresh flowers and a note made of leaves on the bed... oh and 2 Godiva chocolates too. The service was phenomenal.

We also visited the Beach Club where the views of Acapulco were impressive. The waiters were attentive and there was a nice restaurant. Although you have to get there early if you want a cabana. Luckily we were in Acapulco to work on our tans ;) We decided we wanted to ride jet skis and asked the waiter. In no time we had a jet ski delivered and were allowed to go wherever we pleased. So we went to the other side of the bay and checked out the shore and the other hotels. I was glad we stayed at Las Brisas, all of the other hotels were your typical beach towers. We were in our own little piece of heaven.

The store at the hotel was a little pricey for souvenirs and since we waited until the last minute had to buy our family gifts at the airport. The shops are in the opposite direction from the airport, so make time if you would like to purchase a memento.

I highly recommend this hotel. There is no other place in the world like it. We will definitely be back!

It has been 20 years since my honeymoon at Las Brisas, and it is nice to see that some things remain the same. By this I mean, stunning environment, fabulous staff, and total tranquility. This is the place for relaxation and serenity. How nice is it to not have to rush down to the pool at 7AM to find a good lounge chair? Instead you can pretend you own your own villa complete with plunge pool and butler service...well after ordering room service of course. To the few naysayers who complain about the perceived lack of privacy on your pool decks...You've got to be kidding...what kind of privacy exists at the more traditional hotel pools? If complete and total privacy is what you need, splurge for at least the Beach Club level or the Jr Suites at the El Fuerte (fort). Most will have complete privacy. I have found that the upgrade in category can be attributed mostly to the level of seclusion. Some will also have a larger deck and an outdoor day bed. That said, the entire resort has spectacular views and the vibe is laid back cool. Room service was quick and reasonably priced; the food very good. Try the Octopus tostadas at the unique and relaxing beach club under your own cabana tent. No beach, but you can snorkel in one of two natural open sea pools as well as swim in a traditional fresh water pool while gazing across the bay to the heart of Acapulco. For serenity, romance, and relaxation...LAS BRISAS is a must.

The Junior suite (#363) was very nice, roomy, had a casual luxurious feel to it, great shower, large terrace with small pool (which was fine): a great room to stay and lounge. The morning breakfast service is very nice. The staff was friendly and often prompt to react and help you. That's for the good part.

CAREFULL not all rooms have the same view or the same level of intimacy. Our junior suite did not have the Acapulco Bay view but the Ocean View which was obstructed by large trees, not to mention that the terrace was directly above a road (not much traffic, I must confess). They tried to accomodate a better view but were either not successful or the room and pool were drastically shrinking... They recommended that we make our reservation on line and then called to guarantee the Bay view rooms next time.

The jeep service to take you up and down is efficient and somehow prompt (and they are always smiling). Going to the beach club is every 20 minutes by shuttle bus: careful with the sea urchins... if you don't like fishes and crabs, the salt water pool is not for you (otherwise, it's great).

We ate often with in room service: the food quality is ok but tasteless (and not cheap; note that the tip is included). Same comment when we went and took breakfast (great view though). We went to Madeiras, a nice restaurant overlooking the bay not far from the hotel: same conclusion i.e. not much to brag about for the food. Oh well.... Once we had to wait 1 1/2 hour to get our lobster salad: good we were not in any hurry...

We went to the Jewelry store and we got the "dowtown treatment" i.e. where they tried to rip off the turists: I had to take the calculator to disagree and had to go to the lobby to get change (they could not give me the equivalent of USD20 back... sad for a Leading Hotel of the World).

Overall it is a wonderful place to relax and the view is enchanting. The service is quite good with a casual style to it, and the staff helpful and always smiling. Careful about the room you want to select, not all look alike or have the same view or the same intimacy. I still would recommend this hotel, even if there is room for improvement. We had a great and relaxing time, and the staff and room sure did help!

Stayed here with my wife for 1 night in May, while driving through Mexico. The hotel is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World, and I can't say this doesn't fit them. What a wonderful place. Having been reluctant to stay in Acapulco at all in the first place, one glance at this place was enough to make me feel happy about doing just that. We had a wonderful room and pool, great views, and the service was great. We could park our car at (under) our casita. In the morning, we headed down to the private beach club. A wonderful place with a pool and sea-water pools connected to the ocean. Breakfast is included and there are plenty of dinner options in town (the hotel itself is quite pricey). If only we'd had a few more days to spend at this place..
