Puerto Vallarta is a beautiful city with some fantastic restaurants, bars, and sights to see. We were enjoying the place enough that we decided to look into purchasing a time share with our resort, the Mayan Palace. It is a very pretty resort, with good food, a nice beach and a great pool area. We sat down with a very nice sales rep. Unfortunately, we realized very quickly that this was not a great deal, and said no to the sale. That's when things got ugly. A sales "manager" came over and started with the high-pressure tactics. When we pointed out the features of the program that we did not like (the price was reasonable, just not the program), he became very rude, finally calling us names and storming away. Later, we found out that he had taken his frustration out on the person we originally talked to! Needless to say, we won't be going back to this particular resort again. We know that the sales staff at these resorts are often difficult to deal with (that's why we say no to the presentations!), but this one takes the cake. We have since heard similar stories (oh, why couldn't someone have told us BEFORE we sat down?).
