“great location,friendly staff”

This hotel is so well located near the high end stores, McGill and Mount Royal.

It is modern, bright and very well run. We belong to Sofitel Privelege so were upgraded and given an early checkin and late checkout.

The bar and restaurant are attractive but very modern.

I booked the wrong dates online with no changes allowed but the hotel corrected my mistake at no charge.

My only problem was that the windows don't open

“Stunning, almost perfect”

Sofitel Montreal

5 of 5 stars
Zahara de la Sierra, Spain

If your idea of luxury is the Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons brocade, velvet, swags and overstuffed sofa school, then this hotel is not for you. On the other hand, if you want stunning contemporary style, exquisite furnishings, top-class service, wow-factor bathrooms, all wrapped in a dramatic modernist architectural package, then you will love the Sofitel Montreal. It is deliberately 21st Century, right down to the lobby music. The rooms are large and nicely furnished (I had a deluxe twin), with dramatic city views from floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall windows, the bathrooms are huge, with a separate shower and very good lighting, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, Canadian contemporary art decorates the rooms and public spaces. Scented candles perfume the lobby with a pleasant ambiance. The beds are most comfortable. The hotel location is great for the Downtown area: the Peel Metro stop is one block away, as the entrance to Montreal`s vast underground city.

It`s not often that I can say that my experience of a hotel was almost energizing or uplifting -- and I travel a lot -- but frankly this is how I felt about this Sofitel. My only niggles are that the lobby mood music can be intrusively loud, so that sometimes one has the sense that one has accidentally walked into a hip bar rather than a cool hotel, and food prices are, well, pricey.

Nevertheless, I loved this hotel, and would choose it every time over the conventional, oh-so-familiar 4 and 5 star chain hotels that abound in Montreal.

“Very nice hotel!”

Stayed at the hotel for two nights while in Montreal on business. The room was very nice. The bed was a bit too soft for me but I'm sure it would be just right for most people. The mini bar and room service prices were very expensive but that's to be expected at any high-end hotel. Huge closet and bathroom were a definite plus. The front desk and concierge were very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent, just two blocks from the great shops on Sainte Catherine Street and a few blocks from the Eaton Centre mall. Overall I had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay and would recommend the hotel to anyone.

“Lovely Hotel”

Sofitel Montreal

This was my second time staying at a Sofitel property (the first time being in Chicago) and both times were truly remarkable.

The Montreal property is exceptionally well run, is impeccably clean, has fantastic room service, offers comfortable beds, and has a very friendly staff. All staff members speak both French and English while offer professional service (all with a bright, cheerful smile). The rooms are spacious, clean, well laid out, and the bed/pillows are very comfortable. Do yourself a favor - stay at this hotel. If you speak French (or learning the language as I am) then stay here and enjoy yourself.

This is a place you dream going to but you don't think it is out there, well my dream came through and i'm very happy to see there are still places out there that know what means customer service.
The room are bright and clean , the bathroom has the separate shower and it's in a perfect conditions. All the staff was just exeptionnel.
The only thing is the restaurant, not much choice on the evening menu and the prices and not really ..visible..check the bootom right end of the menu (you will see it).
Anyway, great hotel, keep up the good job !
