“What a wonderful hotel!”

We spent two nights here about two weeks ago. It has to be one of the cleanest hotel we've ever stayed in. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They have a sitting room on the main floor with free coffee, expresso, cappuccino, etc. and internet. Our room was huge and the bathroom was extremely clean. Breakfast was good.....there was plenty to eat. We had to leave early one morning and the staff made sure we had something to eat before we left. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others. There is no doubt that I'll stay here the next time I visit Munich.

By the way, I highly recommend a daytrip to Neuschwanstein. It's not as difficult as you would think. The hotel staff told us about the Bavarian rail pass. Basically, up to 5 people can travel on this pass for just 29 euros total. This was a great deal. Neuschwanstein is beautiful.

Review from Longview, TX - Hotel Uhland, Munich, Germany
October 25, 2006
I had contacted the Hotel back in March, 2006 about reserving 9 rooms for a group of friends and family that were traveling to Munich for a special occasion Oct. 12th - 21st. The Hotel was very accomodating in making our reservations for the group and offered us weekly rates instead of the usual daily rates, since most of us were staying so long. The location was perfect for us because it's located in a very nice residential area with close access to restaurants, the train station, the underground transit, shopping, parks, etc. In reality, the Hotel seemed more like a large Bed and Breakfast, rather than a Hotel. The outside of the building is beautiful and unique in it's own, and very well maintained. The inside of the Hotel was very comfortable and nicely decorated. Located on the main floor is a sitting room that offers reading material and internet access, as well as the breakfast room which is open with a nice assortment of breakfast foods on a daily basis. The Hotel has 4 levels which are accessible by a large staircase or by elevator. Every guest room is decorated differently, which adds to the charm of the Hotel. Our room was a nice size, with a queen-size bed, which was a plus! We had a TV, locksafe, 2 phones and a small mini-bar refrigerator in our room. The lodging was very clean, the staff was very friendly and accomodating - especially helpful in booking tours, recommending restaurants, shopping, etc. The Hotel also had bicycles available to use for free, if you wanted to ride around Munich. Our group was very pleased with their stay at the Hotel Uhland and the prices were very suitable for the needs of our group. We would all recomment this location to any future travelers and would not hesitate to stay there again! Our compliments from Texas, California, Washington & Mexico!!

“The Lovely Uhland”

I stayed 5 nights at the Uhland in early September. I can't add anything to all the compliments posted here. Everything is accurate...its lovely, friendly, comfortable, clean, etc. Internet connection is spotty, so if you're trying to conduct business, it can be frustrating. I have found that internet connections all over Europe to be spotty, though, so that is not a unique problem here.

Also, there is some sort of business next door that is open from at least 6 a.m. through to midnight. (a medical supply/ lab?) They constantly are loading up trucks with clanking metal containers. They start early and end late making a racket. On mild evenings with windows open, you notice. Also, while reasonably close to a subway station, I felt a little "removed" from shopping and attractions. There's really little to do or see in the immediate area, (other than the Octoberfest), so public transportation is generally required unless you're prepared to walk--a lot.

I don't want to diminish the positive here, because this is a wonderful little boutique hotel. One of the best we've stayed in in Europe. If you have a car, it has even more appeal because of parking available. It is also relatively close to the central train station.

Stayed here for 3 nights in Sept. of 2005. Family friendly, great value, excellent location (across the street from the Oktoberfest fairgrouds), walking distance to some major sights, shopping, etc.. It's in a quiet neighborhood, so it's off the beaten track. They have a small parking lot, good breakfast. All in all a great value for the location, and very pleasnt and helpful staff.

“Wonderful place to stay”

Hotel Uhland

My wife and I stayed at the hotel Sept 6 and 7 and can't say enough about how well we were treated.

The hotel is an easy walk from the train station, and is in a quiet residential area. We were a little taken aback by the dormitory style room with wooden beds, but soon got to appreciate that the hotel is much more than the physical surroundings.

Hotel staff recommended the Lenz restaurant nearby for dinner, which was good. Breakfast were more than enough and served in pleasant surroundings.

Hotel staff were very helpful with directions, storing luggage, and general courtesy.

This is a great place to stay.
