Stayed here for a long weekend in July. It's a large traditional looking hotel about 2/3 of the way towards the northern end of Douglas Prom. We booked a sea view "executive room" which overlooked the bay. The room was small-ish but OK for a long weekend. The Hotel rooms looked like they had been completely remodeled a couple of years ago and the furniture and decorations were in good condition. The bed appeared to be king sized and was very comfortable. The bathroom was fully functional with a great shower although the shower curtail was smelly.
The staff were very friendly and the place seemed to be run very efficiently. It is a good location as the centre of Douglas seems to cater for binge drinkers so it's fine to be about 10-15 minutes walk away from all the noise.
We ate in the hotel restaurant one night, which also doubles as the function room (and was closed on the second night due to a wedding). The food was of a good standard and so was the service. The breakfast was included and was perfectly acceptable although the basement location (it doubles as an all you can eat Asian buffet in the evening) was a little gloomy.
There don't appear to be any restaurants in Douglas, only those in hotels or attached to pubs. The Terminus pub, at the north end of the prom, had very good beer and did excellent pub food.
Overall this is a good place to stay if you don't mind a traditional seaside type hotel. One problem was that all the floor boards seemed to creak so you could hear everyone moving around!
