“Charming villa with a wonderful staff!”

Villa Rigacci

4 of 5 stars
Michigan
Jun 3, 2008

We just returned from a 9-day Italy trip for my 50th birthday. What a beautiful country steeped in history! Four days of our trip were spent in Tuscany at the Villa Rigacci. It is situated 35 miles s.e. of Florence and that proved to be a good location for day trips to Siena, Chianti, etc...
Villa Rigacci was a charming hotel with an old-world feel, a beautiful view and a wonderful and helpful staff. The large pool and covered outdoor eating area overlook rolling hills of green and mountains in the distance. There were wild horses, singing birds, lovely roses on the grounds and a peaceful feeling at the villa.

Each morning, a continental breakfast was served and the quaint dining room, complete with antiques on the walls, was a quiet way to end a busy day of traveling. If you don't mind two twins pushed together to make a queen bed, (seems to be a European thing) and are looking for a quiet restful piece of history in Tuscany...this is your place! Also small dog-friendly.

“A little Paradise!”

Villa Rigacci

If You love the culture and are fascinated in the same time by the calm countryside's charm, this is a place for You! Villa Rigacci is an old, but very clean and very well renewed Manor just at 23 minutes by train or 1hour by car from the center of Florence (the best way is to rent a car, because countryside is just beautiful;)!) Rooms are decorated with a lot of taste and, once inside, You have an impression of being transferred in the 19th century. Very beautiful swimming pool, hided from the wind by the wall full of roses, will compleet your pleasant stay. Restaurant is open only for dinner (I was there in the begginning of the season), but, if lazy to moove during the day, You can ask for the full board, and the kind and smily chief will prepare for You good plates on your convenience!
The hotel's owner really cares about his "little jewel": all is very well entertained - swimming pool, garden and rooms, for sure! All clients are treated very friendly, but with a lot of respect. I travel all around the world, and can tell You than Villa Rigacci is just a small paradise:)!
The only 2 little week points of this place are: 1French and no English TV Channels (a lot of Italian and German programs) and no eggs for the breakfast, during which, neverthless, You'll enjoy the home-made bread and pies (the pies are so tasteful - weightwatchers: stay aside;)!) But, in the end, You don't go to Florence to watch TV, and the eggs are plenty of cholesterol;)!
I highly recommend this place!

This is a fantastic hotel. At first sight you'll think it looks old-fashioned but it character shines through. Great food, spacious and comfortable rooms (spotlessly clean) and a lovely location in the Tuscan hills. Excellent service.

This is a quirky hotel that you will always remember. It is not for people who like the chain experience but for those who appreciate something a bit different, and a bit special.
