I stayed at the Hillgrove Hotel with my three children in August '06. My fault, I didn't decide to book into Dingle until very late so the Hillgrove was one of the few places that could accommodate me with the late booking.
On the plus side: very good location, easy to park, short stroll into town, nice little guest lounge.
Negatives: our rooms were kind of dirty. The beds were comfortable, though. I imagine it could be very loud on a nightclub night but the night we were there the club was not open. We rang to get in and no one responded. Ultimately we hunted around and found a young girl who checked us in. I don't believe I ever met the owner.
Another plus: one of the best breakfasts I had on our trip - smoked salmon w/ scrambled eggs.
If you are traveling with children I guess I'd stay there if the club is closed.
