The Old Cable House is a very good B&B. The owners are friendly and attentive to the needs of their guests. Breakfast was a real treat with a variety of options on offer. Other meals we have eaten there on past visits to the area were also excellent.

My sister and I stayed for two nights in the "Samuel Morse" room and enjoyed every bit of the hospitality from the owners, Margaret and Alan, who served up warmth, cheer, and a hearty welcome along with a tasty big traditional Irish breakfast. The Cable House offers not only authentic Irish cheer but also authentic history - it housed engineers and operators of the first transatlantic cable. Fascinating piece of history for me since I graduated from Cooper Union School of Engineering in New York and the history of the founder/ benefactor of the college, Peter Cooper (a wealthy industrialist), who was also a major investor in the laying of the cable and served as the first president of the company that operated the cable. One of the best features of the B&B was that it housed so many historical artifacts- Margaret even showed me the engineering records of the cable laying! Conveniently, the beach and town center are within a 2 minute walk.

For first class Irish hospitality you can't beat the Old Cable House in Waterville County Kerry. Situated on the famous Ring of Kerry you have access to numerous deserted sandy beaches and glorious mountain scenery all connected by a network of fushia bedecked country lanes. In addition there are many local towns and attractions to visit. Take a combined Jounty Pony Trap ride and Lake trip from Killarney for an unforgettable day.
Margaret and Alan provide a typical Irish welcome along with an extensive knowledge of local attractions, this, accompanied by their extensive and delicious Irish seafood and local cuisine, would be hard to beat.
Waterville, a favourite of Charlie Chaplin (his daughter Geraldine still lives there), has a range of restaurant ideal for that special celebration along with numerous bars for that welcome sing song and Guiness nightcap. Enjoy
