I booked the Crowne Plaza Coogee through a last minute hotel booking website and got a great deal. Arrived at 11.00am and was expecting to just leave my bags with the concierge but was told my room was ready. Reception staff very polite and helpful. Room was beautiful, 2 double beds, plasma tv, well stocked mini-bar and nice clean bathroom (a bit small if you're fussy about these thing but I found it good enough!). TV has usual channels plus Fox 8 and all the Fox Sports channels.

Had a great nights sleep in a very comfortable bed (pilllows and mattress the best hotel stuff I've ever slept on!). Staff helpful and friendly at all times and were willing to help in any way they could.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Close to the beautiful beach at Coogee, the main street with cafes and shops and I recommend the coastal walk to everyone - simply stunning.

Booked Hotel some months in advance and arrived quite early and before normal check in time and was told NO rooms available, This was Ok until quite a few other people turned up, including two big tour groups, and all were given rooms immediatly. As I am Priorty Club Member I was very unhappy about delay which was caused by multiple reasons,depending on who you spoke to in reception., so many reasons in fact that I did not beleive them and created a scene whereby they pulled an upgraded room immediatly and off we went to sleep after a long flight from London.
The internet service in the Hotel is expensive and very slow. It is advertised as High Speed and it went at the same speed as my granny on her walking stick. I complained but nobody in this Hotel seems to understand the needs of buisness people today.
The room however was acceptable with a nice Bay view.
The bathroom was also too small for two people to share

Crowne Plaza at Coogee Beach looks great from outside but inside is a different story;

Renovations which their webside claims has been done in 2007, must have been just soft furnishing replacements. In our room the fridge had been leaking for some time causing the cupboard (where it hummed) to be badly damaged. Everything , apart the soft furnishing, is worn out.

Rooms are tiny and bathroom even smaller. As we got a ocean view room (excellent views), morning sun was extreamly hot, so the curtains had to be closed all morning. Rooms have air-conditioning, but even that we set the thermo to +18 Celsius and fan on it's highest, the coolest the room got during the night was +22.5 Celsius, stuffy.

If wanting to holiday in coastal suburb Coogee, would rather recommend the apartment hotels in area, keeping also in mind that it's hard to find quality restaurant in Coogee.

Stayed two nights in late December 2007 with my wife. The location of this hotel is one of it's strongest points. It is located across the road from beautiful Coogee Beach and is surrounded by some fantastic cafes and restaurants.

The views from the restaurant are magnificent. The food is of a very high quality and the service is exceptional.

The pool was very nice (but a bit cold) and I was disappointed that the spa pool was not heated.

All in all - well worth a visit.
